since the last wolf was killed big hunt in 1938 now the first wolf has found his way to southern Austria

the main part of the article glorifies the "110 heroic hunters who achieved to kill the blood thirsty, sheep-killing beast" after 16 drive hunts.



I really hope this wolf survives and more wolves find their way here to form a pack.

there is a lot of work to be done if the wolf is to make a comeback..
I hope this wolf goes on to start a pack of it's own one day too, kibib.

They should see it as an opportunity to bring the wolves back to that area...

yeah it should be an opportunity to bring back the wolf, the problem is as soon as the wolf is seen close to people it is seen as a "problem animal" and the hunters make lots of propaganda against predators see:

, at the moment the hunters lament that because of the tough winter the number of deer is very low and they can not hunt as much as usual, last autumn there was even a discussion to make birds of prey (although they are protected on whole europe) huntable because they hunted rabbits.
