4 APPENNINE WOLVES KILLED IN APULIA/FOGGIA
(AGI) - Foggia, Jul 20- Four Appennine wolves, a mother and three cubs, has been killed and them carcases found in a garbage bin at the periphery of Rocchetta Sant'Antonio. The finding charge, once more, sheep farmers that in the last months suffered attacks to their flocks. According the reportings would be about fifty the sheeps killed by wolves.
Last Jun 16 another carcase of wolf, shoot killed, has been found at the periphery of Rocchetta Sant'Antonio. It's a patrimonial damage, according the specialists would amount to 150,000 euros, and a faunistic damage because the Appennine wolf is a truely rarity in the province of Foggia: would be about twenty individuals presente in Capitanata (Apulia) and about one thousand in Italy. Carabinieri are investigating on the killings.

Here there's the usual problem: the law is not enforced for crimes on animals/wildlife, and the (possible) sentences are slight...
In other countries poachers with illegal weapons get arrested... here no (not event if they take with modified machine guns... it's happened the last week)!
