February this year the french government approved the killing of a wolf, a necropsy showed that the female alpha wolf was pregnant, so this endangers the wolves in europe even more.

Crying or Very sad I read the news on Loup.org. There's a petition to sign:

Many european countries (and the Swiss) pretend to protect the wolf (and the bear)... really them governments authorize killings as soon as there's a predation on livestock Evil or Very Mad
Here in Italy big carnivores are particularly protected by the law... but there's a strong opposition of the pubblic administrators, cattle farmers and obviously hunters...... Confused

I'll tell you an emblematic story. Two years ago a major and a councillor of Prali (a little town in Piedmont) cried wolf using the press. "wolves are dangerous for children" "wolves are evil: they devoured a deer". (personal comment: hunters aren't evil??? also them kills deers! and they do for fun not for survival!) An "informer" report to me that hunters of Prali said "if we see a wolf, we'll shoot it". Since the major spoke ill of wolves, they felt authorized to kill wolves Shocked
I and other wolf lovers launched a public protest against the city administration of Prali. In the letter we asked a correct and extensive information on the wolf (quickly refunds for farmers, information on non lethal methods, etc.), an improved and more responsible use of the press. Also we asked to the people more tolerance, and declare that we regard the presence of the wolf as an added value to the territory. Luckily, thousands people (and some animal rights organizations) agreed the protest and there was a TV news service on that protest (it's on my Youtube channel). But it's REALLY difficult to release correct and real informations on the wolves (as wildlife at all, as dogs)... it's easiest by the press to spread silliness, cowardice and falseness... In Germany a hunter killed a male wolf leaving back the mother with their pups, the hunter was charged, beacuse wolves are in whole europe a protected species.

I truly hope the female wolf can raise the pups alone and the hunter gets the penalty he deserves

Edit: the hunter gave away his weapon, when he killed the wolf premeditated he can get up to 5 years of jail or a fine of up to 50.000€.

What is it that some people don't understand? When some thing is endangered or threatened, JUST DON'T KILL IT!!! What is so hard about that? I really want to know what they think, because it is nothing that anyone should think... Do they really even understand what they are doing? Do they really think that these animals cause that much of a problem? Some of the things people complain about wolves is just in their nature. Just because they can't change what they do means they have to die? I don't understand, i really don't...
