"Not much, our bodies still need to rest and heal," Tyden replied to Seth. Tyden headed back towards the den; the sun was going down fast. Ely followed him but she went straight inside the den while Tyden went back to the human's tent. He wanted to see what hew as up to; Tyden noticed that the human vehicle was loaded with stuff and the tent seemed empty nearly.

Tyden was tired however, so he'd check on that tomorrow; he turned around and went inside the den and lied next to Ely and they both slowly difted asleep.

Once Seth was content with watching the sunset, he didn’t move. The sun setting was one of the things that Seth loved to sit and look at. He was free in the wild and he had both of his closest friends with him, how could he not be happy. With Dan around no hunter would dare hurt any of the foxes. If they did Tyden was there too. Seth’s mind continued to wander randomly.

Chirpy how ever knew that winter was coming. The insect didn’t know all about winter but had this feeling of migration. Soon he knew he would have to leave but he didn’t know how he would say goodbye. Chirpy just would have to worry about it when the time came.

Dan went to bed early that night, for the train would be there just before dawn. He didn’t like the thought of leaving Seth behind but he knew that Seth would be fine until he returned.
Dan was a man of faith, he didn’t just want something done he did his best to get it done. Every night he prayed for animals and thanked God for everything that was getting done, and with that he was soundly asleep.

After the sun was gone Seth walked around seeing if he could find some more to interest him. Walking around to the tent, Seth goes inside jumps onto the cot and lies on Dan’s feet like the previous night. He sees all the stuff packed up. Must be getting some more stuff in tomorrow. At the sanctuary they always made room for new stuff. In the morning Seth would find out different.

Tyden and Ely both sleeped through the night to wake up feeling much better. They both came out of the den and noticed that the sun was still not up.

Ely went toward the stream for a drink while Tyden went hunting. He easily caught a mouse and brought it to the stream for Ely; she ate it and he took a drink. They both were healing up nicely and stayed around the den for a while.

Tyden rested up on top of the human vehicle and Ely played around.

The sky was dark and Dan was walking down the tracks. As he walked thoughts of hunters filled his mind, then he heard the shots.
Moving at his top speed Dan quickened his pace. When he arrived at where the sound came from he could see a hunter run off down a trail with a dead fox in his hand. Catching up to the hunter Dan looks at the fox, it was Seth. “NOOOOOOO!!!!!”

Dan wakes up suddenly, with his mind spinning. It was just a dream, but today was when he needed to leave Seth and his new friends unprotected.
With his eyes open and a bit of fear in his heart, Dan pets Seth. Fear slowly loosens its grip, as his hand comes down Seth’s fur.

“Well Seth, its time for me to go.” His head turns from Seth and goes about grabbing the last few things inside the tent. He walks outside the tent to see the dog-fox on his ATV. Putting the things down he shakes his head. “I’m going to need that you know.” Then he turns around and walks back inside.
“Seth you are going to have to move too.” He picks Seth up, puts him down on the ground and closes the cot. Its out and down with the tent. “Seth, come out of the tent.”
The swift fox walks slowly out of the tent, something isn’t quite right. Why is he taking down his tent? Walking up to Dan the small fox sits down and watches the tent fall. It comes down slowly without a sound. The human is now rolling it up, and putting it into a bag. Is he going somewhere? A train whistle blows. Then the shock hits him… Dan is leaving. The whole emotion takes its grip on his little heart. Why? What did I do? He’s not leaving cause of me is he?

Dan walked over to the ATV and finish putting the last few things on it. That is what he could put on it, till Tyden moved.
The little fox thinks again at the words that Dan had said “Hay, you I hope you don’t miss me too much because in two days the train will be back again.” The last few words made Seth realize that Dan was leaving because of something else.
With the rest of the stuff done all Dan needed to do was get Tyden off the ATV, somehow.

Tyden watched the human then looked down at the vehicle that he was lying on. Knowing that the human wanted it back, Tyden waited there still. Glad that the human repected him, he now wanted him to also trust him as he now trusted the human though he still didn't trust the human all that much as he probably should. Though, all his past experiences with humans still kept him focused.

Tyden waited for the human to come closer, see if he really trusted him.

With his mind swimming in emotion, he put his hand up to the white fox. As soon as he knew that the fox trusted him he gently petted it. Dan saw now that this fox too trusted him. With skill and grace, the human put his hands under the fox picking it up ever so smoothly. Holding this silver fox, Dan has tears welling up in his eyes. This is as close to a silver fox he had ever been able to get.
Quickly remembering about trust, he lowers the fox to the ground. Patting him on the head, and saying good-bye, Dan jumps onto the ATV. “I will miss you guys” with sorrow in his voice and tears still in his eyes. He starts it and drives off to the train.

The little fox runs after him not wanting him to leave. Fear now inside his little heart. Seth isn’t afraid of trains, hunters or any other animal. He is afraid of loosing his friend. My two best friends finally understand each other and now one of them has to go?

At the train an older man and a women in her late 20s stand waiting.

“Do you think that Dan found Seth?” she asks.
“If I know anything about Dan that’s the one thing I would bet on,” the aged man smiles.
“I can hardly wait to hear what he has found out. So many questions on how that tiny animal survived out here when he was raised with humans.” She ends her conversation hearing the ATV driving closer.

When Dan touched Tyden, he couldn't help but to growl slightly though he didn't think that Dan heard him. Though a few seconds afterwards, he stopped growling. . . Then Dan picked him up and set him down on the ground, where Tyden now stood. Now he trusts me, though I hope he didn't hear me growling at him; I didn't mean too.

Ely got up and paced in a circle around the den, she was stretching out her sores. Her leg has healed nicely and is almost completely gone but the bullet wound still left a scar which would be there for the rest of her life even though it wouldn't be all that noticable.

Both Tyden and Ely watched Seth trail after the human vehicle but they were in no hurry to follow but they were curious so Tyden started after Seth on a light jog and Ely followed.

As he approaches the train he sees the two waiting for him, and smiles. He rides up and stops with Seth right behind him.
“I see that you found him.” the woman smiles.
“What did I tell you, I knew Dan here would find him in a jiffy” The old man laughed.
“Well, it was Seth that found me.” Dan turns to look at Seth sitting on the side of the ATV.
Seth barks and walks over to sniff the two new people.
“There was two more foxes that befriended Seth, I assume that they were the ones that helped him survive.”
“Oh? Two more eh?” the senior asks.
“Yeah. Had a bit of trouble too. But I will tell you later.”

Handing the boxes to the men on the train Dan tries to prepare himself to leave. He knows that the foxes will now be on their own again and after last nights dream he is afraid.

They push the ATV up onto the ramps into the train. Everything else is on.
Seth begins to wine, and so Dan picks him up. With tears in his eyes, “you will be fine without me. I will return as soon as I can.”
The swift fox barks and licks the tears off of his face.
The women points, “are those the two other foxes?”
Tyden and Ely had com to say good bye too.

Tyden stopped when he saw that Seth trailed the human and that there were others also. Tyden back away but Ely did not know better and walked to Seth. Tyden did not remove his eyes from teh humans. When they are in groups then they must be dangerous.

Ely walked up to the humans and sat down at their feet wagging her tail thinking that she might get food. Ely was the only reasons why Tyden did not retreat back to his den; he watched them carefully.

He put Seth down, walked over to the train and pulled out some jerky.
“Ok you” smiling at Ely. “Here you go” he tosses it away from the train.
“I have to go now Seth” says as he pets the swift fox. “I will be back some time soon.”
With the humans on the train it begins to move. Seth sits and cries as his human friend is once again out of his life.

Inside the train the three people talk about what has gone on.
“Yeah. It was the white fox that you seen.”
“What about rabies?” the women says.
“No worries there. You know how I would put it in tuna back at the sanctuary?”
“Did those two eat it?” she questions.
“Yeah and I gave Seth some of it too, just in case.”
“Oh I have a surprise for you” The woman sounds sneaky.
“What is it?” he looks into her eyes.
“We have a new friend that was found in the states” she smiles at his excitement.
“When did you get him?” he is smiling back.
“It’s a her and she’s about the same age as Seth” her eyes twinkle.
“You know what this means then?”
“What?” the old man finally speaks up.
“We can build a reserve after all.”

The train continues to roll down the tracks as Dan jumps around inside of it.

Tyden came back to Ely and Seth. He watched the train leave, feeling a bit more comfortable now. Seth and Ely went back to the den and lied down with each other.

As days past, Ely and Tyden both healed up and the caches were full once again. Now they knew that the human was suppose to be back soon.

(ooc: Sorry, I can't think of anything else interesting to happen)

It was a week later, and Dan still had not come back. The cool wind told of the coming winter, and the colours of the leaves have changed.
Chirpy was acting strange too, something inside him wanted to fly to the south.
The days passed, and Chirpy needed to talk to Seth. They walked to the apple tree, and Chirpy chirped about how he needed to fly south.
“Yeah. I kind of knew that you would be” sighed Seth.
“Chirp.” In a sad voice, it replied.
After a long talk under the apple tree, they said their good byes.
The locus flew into the air chirping good byes to his friend. Sadness over whelmed Seth as he sees yet another of his friends leave.

More days pass and depression takes hold. Knowing that Tyden and Ely will need more time to themselves, Seth decides that he needs to leave. Without wanting to make a big deal it, Seth begins sleeping in the den that he had first made. It was now dug out more and a bit roomier.

The next few days Seth began to fall into deep depression. He had not even ventured out of his den for days.

Dan is gone… Chirpy is gone… and Tyden has his mate… what do I have… what do I do now? Worries and fears are not apart of his thinking. As far as he knows all his fears have taken place. He is worthless, and lonely.
The third day dawns, that he hasn’t moved from his den. Now becoming skinny from the lack of food, the small fox closes his eyes to forget his sorrow once again.
