Ever seen one of these? Cute as a button I think. I'd get one if it was legal and easier to obtain.

These animals always looked more bear-ish to me. Do you know where they are most common?

Surprised I've heard of Coonhounds, but that is ridiculous. Shocked I wonder how the heck that could of happened. I mean, racoons and dogs don't generally breed together, do they?

I think they look like Pomeranian mixes to me.

Since 'tanuki' is japanese for racoon, mabye you'd find then in Japan? Or someone thought it would be a cool name for this weird hybrid? I always thought the Japanese had more respect for wildlife than that.

Hey, are you sure those pics arent, you know, Photoshopped or something? I mean, they look real, but...I've seen some pretty amazing things done with PS, I'm sure an expert Photoshopper could do something like this. Neutral

Looked them up, and they are part of the canidae family. Raccoons and dogs can't breed together. It just won't work, biologically. I wanted to check if there could be a wolf and fox hybrid but it's just not possible. I forgot where I got that information, it was so long ago.

As Huskian said, Raccoon dogs are members of the Canidae family. Raccoon dog's scientific name is Nyctereutes procyonoides and it is native to Eastern Asia.
Here is a wikipedia article of raccoon dogs:
