I just wanted a thread for discussion about this movie and I didn't quite want it to get lost in the mist of the general catagory so I put it here.
Anyway, I like Narnia though I think that they could have done better. If they added more stuff after Aslan's sacrafice, kinda just have more storyline having them know that they are staying in Narnia becuase basically after it's decided, it's the battle then it's done. Disney made it so I guess that really couldn't spice up the battle all that well but it'd be cool if someone did.
It'd be a great place that I would like to go to and visit, even in the winter time; as long as I go there. It'd be great to be in there shoes for a while.
Jadis, I like her in the battle scene, she totally owns though she's too much of a . . . well, she's too mean but totally owns in a fight. Though I don't like how Disney and other little kid companies make wolves bad. Mother Goose stories and Disney make wolves the bad guy. I wish I could have directed that so I could make a few changes

I liked it.. loved it... thought that it was one of the coolest things that I have seen.. hmmm... I wasn't thinking that disney could of done better but now that I think of it.... maybe they could of.
well if you had seen the older ones then you might of thought the same thing. One thing I had forgotten was the fact that this is not the only movie, if I were to guess Disney is at work on the next one.. The horse and his boy.
there are seven books in all:
The Magicain's Nephew
The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe
The horse and his boy
Prince Caspian
The Voyage of the 'Dawn Treader'
The Silver Chair
The Last Battle
I think that the whole story was interesting in that Aslan sacrafised himself for the boy. One other thing that I was not entirely clean on was that only the animals that betrade Aslan became evil. It doesn't mean that all of that type of animal would be evil.. I wilsh they ahd portrade that better. I seen some evil tigers and some good tigers, why not some good wolves?
I with you on this one White there has been tomany stories that depick wolves as evil. That is like saying all canadians say eh?..... its funny but its true. Though it is far more likely to have a canadain saying eh? then a wolf being evil. |

The Boy and his Horse was one of the good ones, I was disappointed in the lion, witch and wardrope one though. It seems that Disney just added a lot of the good stuff.
I haven' read them all, I stopped at the Voyage one; not sure why but I just did. I have it sitting right next to me actually, I have all them stitting right next to me.
I wish that I could have done a bit of work on it, I'd have more of the fox in there and make a distinctive pint that wolves are not bad. But I would have made it longer though and more interesting stuff. When I first watched it, I liked it because it felt as if I was really there (it was in the theaters ) but after watching it a couple more times, the actor's voices and personalities kinda got annoying so I would have changed up some of the actors/actresses or maybe it was the script that kinda got annoying. Susan's script seeing very quick to blame; Peter's was quick to assume control and kinda like that. _________________

well, the whole point of wolves being depicted as evil, I view it as a slight compliment. Hear me out before you go all on me, okay?
Wolves are considered as the deadliest of all canidae, according to most sources of info I've seen. And they're also viewed as...cool...by most people. If you put a wolf and a fox next to each other, you'd probly be like, "Whoa that wolf looks cool. That fox looks pretty nice too."
See the difference? I dunno, I'm not very good at explaining things so forgive me if that was a poor explanation of my thinking... _________________

Well, when presenting 'evil wolves' to young children, I think they develop more of a fear rather than think that they are cool. I didn't know much about wolves except that they were bad until the fifth grade because of those children books.
BOT - Narnia was a good movie but I do agree that it should have been a bit longer near the end where they are sure that they all are going to stay. Great story to go into for a bit.
So easy to tell in some of the wolf scenes that some are huskies. |

I've finished all the books, now that the new movie has come I've read all the books.
Maybe this thread should be about the books. I dunno but reading these old threads sure are interesting. It's easy to see how this thread split off into the 'Wolf Evil Debate' thread that's floating around somewhere.
Anywho, I like the first five books the most... last two I read through really quickly though so that might have had something to do with it. _________________
