When I get bored, this is what happens. Just in case any of you want to read it:
Sky, an arctic fox in the Cornerian army as a pilot, was on the ship Devine Wind; captained by a German Sheppard named Jarradi. Sky was Jarradi’s best pilot of a S42, a single fighter plane similar to the Arwing but not as advanced. The Devine Wind was part of the Cornerian fleet, which fought against the Andross fleet a few years back. Now with Andross dead and most of his followers, there wasn’t much action in the Lylat System. Except for Oikonny, who’s still causing trouble for Corneria. The location of Oikonny’s fleet is still unknown and the General Pepper wanted it to be found as fast as possible so the rebellion can be put down.
The Devine Wind was ordered to search the X sector, in the far corner of the Lylat System. It usually had some rebels hiding there, there once was a large rebel base there but that was destroyed near 20 years ago. However, what’s left of the destroyed base is still used as a hide-out for rebels.
The entire fleet knew that Oikonny wasn’t hiding there, but the plan was to flush him out of his hole. That’s why the Devine Wind was sent to the X sector, to destroy the base and get rid of any rebels that might be hiding there. It was a rather simple mission.
While Jarradi piloted the Devine Wind through the sector, he ordered for all single fighters to search as well. Which puts Sky in his S42, along with his team of four others: Frawst, a white Siberian husky who’s light-hearted and a very good pilot; Sky’s best friend. Pyrean, a striped cat and she’s the most stubborn one on the team. Vinet, he’s another fox who’s the ship’s medical officer. And finally, Zyrian the wolf, he doesn’t enjoy air battles that much, he preferred the ground. The Cornerian fleet would rather have him on the ground too, since he’s has killed several dozen rebels and took over many strongholds by himself.
The team was called Star Force in the Cornerian army. They were some of the best in the fleet, not as good as Star Fox but they were ranking the second or third best fighter team in the system.
As top fighters of the Devine Wind, they were ordered to go and destroy what ever was left over from the rebel base, while the ship continued to search and stay alert just in case Oikonny decided to show up. As their S42’s flew by the asteroids, Sky kept an eye on his radar. His team was in a fan formation, with him at the lead. It did not take long to see the base in their sites; it looked similar to Wolf O’Donnell’s base located in the asteroid field except this one was dark with many holes in it. The exterior was all busted and holes where past explosions have occurred showed with black marks and pipes pointed outward. No light came from the base and it floated silently through the rocks and its own debris.
Star Force’s mission was to get a bomb on it which would require for one of them to land on it to plant the bomb. Of course, Zyrian was the one to plant the bomb.
“There’s the base,” Sky announced to his team. “Zyrian will land in it while the rest of us will patrol outside so that no rebels will surprise us.”
“Understood,” the team replied all at once.
Four of the fighters split off and circled the base while the fifth went into the air lock and landed. “All is quiet,” Zyrian reported. “Heading toward the center of the base now.”
“Acknowledged,” Sky replied. He steered his S42 in circles around the center of the base while scanning the base and nearby rocks, anywhere where an ambush could come from.
“Am I the only one who thinks that this mission is a bit too easy,” Frawst asked.
“Just keep your eyes open and ears alert Frawst,” Pyrean answered.
“I was thinking the same thing,” Sky said. “Just stay alert.”
Another minute went by before Sky noticed something, flashes coming from within the base and a moment later, Zyrian spoke. “Contacts, rebels everywhere.” Gunfire could be heard over the radio. “Ambush!”
The rebels decided to attack that moment has about two dozen of rebel fighters came from behind the asteroids and opened fire on the team. Vinet veered off and engaged the rebel fighters along with Frawst, while Sky and Pyrean protected the base from the rebels.
“Sky to Divine Wind,” Sky said into the radio as he fired his blasters at a rebel fighter headed towards the air lock.
“Devine Wind here,” Jarradi’s voice came through the radio. “What’s the problem?”
“An unexpected amount of enemy rebels have been found,” Sky answered and trailed another rebel fighter. “Request for back-up.”
Sky shot down the rebel fighter which crashed into the base hull. “I’m sorry Star Force but reinforcements are not available at the time,” Jarradi said. “We’ve engaged a destroyer and they’re giving us a tough time.”
“Understood,” Sky replied and switched the frequency to his team. “We’re on our own, engage the enemy with caution.”
Sky chased and shot down enemy after enemy, even with them outnumbered, the mission was still pretty simple. Soon there were less than a dozen rebel fighters left and they were hanging near the asteroids, out of the line of fire. All was going quiet as Frawst and Vinet returned near the base.
“All ships report,” Sky ordered.
“No contacts all clear,” Frawst replied.
“Base is secure,” Pyrean reported.
“Zyrian,” Sky said over the radio. “How are things in the base?”
“Those rebels weren’t even a challenge,” Zyrian said. “I’m near the center of the base; the bomb will be planted soon. I’ll report in when the bomb is set.”
“Got it,” Sky said. “We’ll stay outside and patrol the area; we don’t want another ambush to catch us off guard.”
At that moment, a rebel battleship came from behind a line of asteroids and immediately opened fire. All of it was directed towards one ship, Frawst’s ship.
“All ships, attack that battleship,” Sky ordered without hesitation. There was an explosion behind Sky, where the battleship has directed all of its fire but he paid no attention to it and engaged started to fire at the battleship’s weak points.
It didn’t take long for Sky to notice that something was not right. One of his ships was missing. “Frawst! Report!”
“Frawst!” Sky yelled in the radio. Looking back, Sky couldn’t see Frawst or his ship anywhere. Only a small debris field near the base, where the battleship fired. Frawst’s ship was destroyed.
“No,” Sky said, coming to realize what happened. In anger, he steered his ship around back towards the battleship and fired all he could at the battleship’s bridge. All the combined fire left a huge crater in the battleship’s hull. Now with the ship’s controls gone, the battleship floated freely in space, and more internal explosions ripped it apart. Sky went for the weak point of the battleship again and launched a smart bomb at it, which tore the ship in two.
“Bomb planted, I’m heading out,” Zyrian reported as soon as the battleship was destroyed.
“Sky to Devine Wind,” Sky said in a gloomier voice than earlier.
“Devine Wind here,” Jarradi said. “What’s your status?”
“Mission accomplished,” Sky said. “Base will be destroyed within minutes.” Sky paused for a moment. “One causality.”
“Sorry to hear it,” Jarradi replied. “Come back to the ship, we’re leaving. Oikonny is not here.”
Frawst’s body was returned to Corneria for burial. The Cornerian fleet lost a valuable soldier. That husky has saved thousands of lives and shot down hundreds of enemies. Definitely, one of the best in the Cornerian fleet. Sky would miss him terribly.
No more than five years back, Sky would be found at an academy, training. Along side with him was Frawst, they both were training to be fighter pilots. They were young, just barely adults. Little did they know that this day would be the first actual combat experience that they’ll get.
The academy had some old Arwings to practice with, some that were used and disabled in combat but was repaired by the academy’s mechanical class. Sky was sitting in the cockpit of an Arwing, and being near graduation, he was familiar with the Arwing controls. In the air, with his wingman, Frawst, flying right beside him, Sky was doing routine exercises when Corneria’s sky cast a shadow over the academy.
Andross’s thugs were getting more resistance from Corneria and they were getting scared of a future generation putting them down so they often targeted any educational program since the programs were getting more and more advanced.
And now they were targeting Sky’s academy; a small battleship along with half a dozen fighters entered the atmosphere and opened fire on the academy which destroyed the main building. Sky and Frawst weren’t far and were ordered to retreat as the city went quickly went into a lockdown.
The small fleet of Andross’s thugs continued to fire upon the academy and other nearby buildings.
“Where’s McCloud when you need him,” Sky thought out loud as he looked back at the small fleet. “We need to head back; the army is taking to long.”
“Way ahead of you,” Frawst said already steering his Arwing around.
“No, wait,” Sky said. Realizing what he said. “Ah, fine.”
On their way back, they could see most of their academy in flames and the airfield completely destroyed. “Remember what we learned in training,” Sky said.
The fact that the Arwings were the academy’s training equipment; Sky thought that they wouldn’t have their blasters equipped. But he checked and they did luckily, these Arwings were for practicing with the weapons. However, they still weren’t fully equipped.
The first ship of Andross's headed straight for Sky and Frawst. Sky didn't change course and kept his pace, but opened fire to clear the way. _________________

Here's another one I wrote a while back. Basically same characters, different team name (I still haven't found a good team name), different setting... No relations between the stories. Enjoy:
_______________________________________________________________
An anthropomorphic arctic fox, named Sky, is command over small unit of high ranked Arwing fighters of the Lylat system, who are enlisted in the Cornerian army. The team was code named, Star Frost. The team was fighting over Cornerian skies, repelling Andross’s invasion forces and waiting for the Star Fox team to arrive. As some of the best in the Lylat system, they were ordered to fight off Andross forces from invading Corneria completely; otherwise it would have been overran hours ago. Just fighting in one region with the Andross’s whole army coming down on them was a bit tough. While the Corneria fleet fought one of Andross’s fleets in the Y Sector, the rest simply went through the asteroid field instead.
“Flagship destroyed,” Frawst reported. “Their engines couldn’t withstand one bomb.” Frawst was a Siberian husky and an ace pilot, Sky’s best friend. He looked much like Sky, with white fur covering most of his body, except for the occasion patch of light grey, like the grey stripe that came from behind his ear and went around his eye.
“Great job,” Sky replied. “However, that was a minor fleet; let’s hope the fleet can hold off Andross’s invasion for a little longer. Star Fox should be here soon.”
Star Frost weren’t as good as the Star Fox team but they were in the top three of the best fighter teams in the entire system. The Star Frost team also used Arwings but was an older model of the Arwings provided to the Star Fox team so it helped with the more difficult missions having a ship nearly as powerful as the Star Fox’s team does.
“Star Fox team has arrived,” Pyrean announced. Pyrean was a sly, stubborn Siamese cat. She’d often make things more difficult but she could take care of herself and was an excellent addition to the team as she’d always have communication with other parts of the Cornerian fleets. “They’re already on the ground. They didn’t even come to see if we needed any help first.
Sky rolled his eyes, knowing that the Star Fox team would be far more useful fighting the enemy near the ground rather than help mopping up the rest in the high atmosphere levels.
Soon enough, in another ten minute, the Star Fox team had cleared most of the forces from Corneria then went out into the other regions to fight Andross’s forces. Meanwhile, the Star Frost team would follow and kill whoever Star Fox left behind and went into other regions neighboring Corneria or cleared areas to force those ships out of the area.
“The Cornerian fleet his still having trouble in the Y Sector,” Pyrean said with a hint of annoyance in her voice. “We’ve been ordered to go help destroy whatever remains of the main invasion fleet. Zyrian also reports a complete victory in Corneria City.” Zyrian was a timid wolf, and the teams ground specialist. Although he has his own Arwing, he prefers the ground and was assigned to fight ground forces on Corneria where he would be more helpful.
“Then we’re no longer needed around Corneria, and the asteroid belt is cleared,” Sky said. “So, let’s go help out the fleet.” Sky led the team and accelerated out of the asteroid belt and headed straight for the Y Sector with was a few minutes away but the battle flashes and explosion can be seen in the dim distance. “Where’s the Star Fox team?”
“They’re assaulting the base on Zoness,” Pyrean replied. “We could have easily taken it out ourselves.”
Zoness? Sky thought to himself. No one from Corneria has been there for years. I wonder how it is now; pollution has been rumored to destroy its once tropical seas and landmasses.
“Corneria fleet, dead ahead.” Frawst reported. “Andross’s forces are among the fleet, giving them trouble. Let’s take them out!”
Frawst’s ship accelerated more, straight for a large battleship with Andross’s symbol painted on the side. While the Sky went towards the Cornerian fleet to help them deal with whatever their problem was. Within a few minutes, the surviving forces of Andross retreated back to a region nearer Venom. “Reports on Katina say that all Venom forces have been eliminated there,” General Pepper informed the fleet. “We lost contact with the Star Fox as they entered Venom air space. Last report: they just broke through Area 6.”
“Area 6,” Sky thought out loud, stunned. “That’s where Andross’s entire fleet gathers.”
“New orders from General Pepper,” Pyrean said with a sigh. “We’re to go to Area 6 and destroy as much, forces that were left behind, as we can. Kind of like how we came here and did that.”
“Pick up Zyrian,” Sky ordered. “We’ll drop him off at Macbeth along with the rest of the invasion force that General Pepper is summoning up. Frawst and I will head straight for Area 6.”
“Understood,” both Pyrean and Frawst said in union.
Days later, the Star Fox team was dubbed heroes of the Lylat system and got much of the credit for saving the system. Andross was dead now and most of his forces retreated and hid. After the Star Fox team went through Area 6, most of the ships were destroyed but when Star Frost got there, the battleships that were left and trying to regroup were also destroyed. The fleeing ships scattered like dust in the wind.
Peace settled over the Lylat system but there was much destruction already done. The capital or Corneria was being rebuilt and the destroyed ships were being moved away from the planets so they wouldn’t become a hazard. They were all collected in Y Sector where it also became known as the “ship graveyard” quickly. Pollution was too vast on the planets near Venom; there was no hope for those planets. However, Aquas wasn’t as polluted and clean-up crews were attempting to remove the pollution from its waters.
Months went by and Sauria was discovered, and rumors of Andross being back were brought from Sauria’s discovery. Nothing was officially confirmed though so no one really knew what the rumor was about.
Oikonny was a pest from the beginning and the Cornerian army had intelligence saying that he was forming a new rebel force which he was finally cornered at Fortuna and now the army was going to take him down. But little did they know, a far dangerous threat loomed over Fortuna, and the entire Lylat system. _________________
