My Dad and I went to the Indian Reservation Festival today; besides having to do homework there it was enjoyable as always. We saw the bison and dancers and I got a t-shirt and necklace there.
But the main attraction to me (and my father) were the wolves! I finally got to see and pet a wolf! They're names were Ahote' (meaning restless one) and Bandit. Bandit was a wolfdog meaning he was part wolf/part Malamute. They were both gorgeous and it was so much fun to touch them. I looked into Ahote' eyes (even though with wild animals you're not supposed to-but when he looked at me I turned my eyes away) and his eyes were intense. They weren't as big as I thought they were, they might be still growing as they're supposed to be higher than an Irish Wolfhound.
It was awesome! I was as giddy as a school girl and my Dad said if he left to go somewhere I wouldn't move from them and he was right. I was calm when they came near me, I was never nervous even when the mouth was near me. I pet his head, back, stomach, etc. I wish we didn't have to leave, but we did. I will never forget this day.
I was indeed on Cloud 9 as they say. A fantastic day today!!
