Save the Lobo!

With just 59 remaining in the wild, America’s southwest wolves (sometimes called “lobos”) are in big trouble. Now some anti-wolf extremists want Congress to abandon efforts to save them.

Email your Representative right now and urge him or her to oppose efforts to eliminate funding for the southwest wolf recovery program. A vote on the issue is expected tomorrow, so please take action now!

Myth: “Nothing is more attractive to a wolf than the sound of a crying baby.” Representative Steve Pearce (NM)

Fact: There is not one documented case of a healthy, wild wolf killing a human in the United States. In fact, you are more likely to be killed by a meteorite than a wild wolf.

Help stop the lies. Take action now to save wolves.

Can you imagine the southwest without wolves? You might have to if Representative Steve Pearce (NM) is successful in his bid tomorrow to end the federal recovery program for southwest wolves.

Urge your U.S. Representative to oppose efforts to end the southwest wolf recovery program. Congress is expected to vote on the future of southwest wolves tomorrow, so please take action now.

In one of the great conservation accomplishments of the 20th century, the “lobo” was reintroduced to New Mexico and Arizona in 1998 after being driven to extinction in the wild during the early part of the last century.

These captive-bred wolves and their wild offspring have done well -- forming packs, hunting elk, pairing up and having pups. Left alone, these wolves thrive. Unfortunately, they’ve struggled against local opposition, illegal killing and mismanagement.

Just 59 southwest wolves now remain, and some in Congress want to end federal efforts to save them.

An amendment expected to be offered tomorrow by Representative Steve Pearce (NM) would eliminate funding for the southwest wolf reintroduction program -- completely ending the program and dooming the wolves to extinction.

In preparation for the vote, Pearce and his anti-wolf allies have even stooped to spreading misinformation about the southwest wolf recovery program, circulating factually inaccurate reports of wolf attacks. At a recent hearing on the Endangered Species Act, Pearce even made the outrageous statement that “Nothing is more attractive to a wolf than the sound of a crying baby.”

For the record, there is not one documented case of a healthy, wild wolf killing a human in the United States. In fact, you are more likely to be killed by a meteorite than a wild wolf.

Southwest wolves can’t write Congress, but you can.

Help us counter the lies. Take action right now to save Southwest wolves.

I hope you’ll take just a few moments right now to help save this beautiful symbol of the American Southwest.

P.S. A vote is expected on this issue in next few hours. Please take action now!
THAYUNI WOLFMASTER.

Now doesn't logic and common sense seem to be lost? Pro-wolf activist are vastly starting to outnumber the hutners, and anti-wolf poplation. Those who are anit-wolf are mostly stubborn, uneducated and they assume much.
As shown in this comment to the video that's on the forum:
Quote:
Another video by some kid who has never seen a wolf in the wild...
They are not the cute, cuddly creatures like you see on walt Disney.
14172242, instead of contacting an anti organization, try getting educated on the subject first....

First off, how would this person know if the editor of the video has seen a wolf in the wild or not? And why doesn't this person state that he's seen a wolf in the wild? Probably because he hasnt'. Second the video is not Walt Disney, clearly. But the point is that it's false information is what this person it trying to state; the video shows wolves in the wild and their true nature. The video clips are real, not animated. Thirdly, again this person assumes that we're not educated in the matter. Personally, I've learned all aspects of the angle. I've learned why people don't like wolves, and I've listened to all their reasonings. Being educated, I make my stand on the pro-wolf side.

Another example is this bumper sticker on the right hand side of the photo.

Quote:
Save 100 Elk
Kill a Wolf

First they try to make it sound like 100 elk for wolf life is so much... A sole human usually consumes at least, nearly a thousand large game in their lifetime. Granted a human life is 10X longer than a wolf's life time, but do the math and it equal to about the same. I'm just estimating these numbers too; I'm sure that humans consume well-over 1000 large game meat in their life time, probably more in 10 years too.
Secondly, who is this sticker going out to? Hunter clearly don't want to save the elk, so are they targeting the vegeterian type of the public? Pro-animal activist have already accepted the fact that animals are killed by predators, and other cuases, and they are smart enough to know that killing a wolf to save elk isn't nearly close to the answer, so the sticker doesn't appeal to anyone.
Thirdly, you really want to save 100 elk? Run the car that has the sticker on its bumper over a cliff. That'll save more than 100 elk.
Fourth, if you want to save an elk by shooting a wolf, then you might as well be condemning the elk population to death. Overpopulation will over take as it has before, starvation and disease will kill elk in the thousands in just a short amount of time.

Why must pro-wolf activist come up with the good arguements? Ever notice that we are usually ignored and told that our arguement isn't valid, yet they have no arguement of their own. And those few who are educated in the one-sided view, always debate with those who are not so educated, mostly the roleplayers. When I debated with one of the most "challenging" anit-wolf person, he evetually just kept going in circles, back to old debates that I've already countered and found the faulties in.

It's very unfortunate that only the anti-wolf activist have made it into office; such as Butch Otter, George Bush, and many others. They ignore the thousands upon thousands who disagree with their plans to delist the wolves and they only listen to the few hundred red-necked hunters who are on their side, and they only hunt for sport.

Logic has been lost.

Kill a wolf and kill the other 100 of elk too?
Why want they to save the elk when the wolves need it more?
I think they want to 'save' the elk so they can hunt them by them self...

Another thing: Wolves have always hunt on elk. And guess what, the elk is still here.
Some humans think they're 'god' or something. They think they can change the things that doesn't belong to them. Changing things and killing nature.

I want to see there REAL reason to hunt Wolves, because I've never got a clue why they want to rid of the wolves.

This world is crazy

The real reason is for sport soley. They use ranchers and livestock as invalid reasons to hunt. Idahoans say that they kill our livestock...I live in Idaho and there's barely any livestock farms.
