Basic Image Posting

To post an image first you have to get the URL. Do that by right clicking the picture and where it says Address, copy that. As soon as you got the URL, go to your post and paste it. After that, highlight the URL that's now on the posting screen and Click the Img button that should be near the top of the posting screen. Then a [img][/img] should appear around the URl, click preview to see if worked then click submit. like this
[img]http://image_url[/img]

Image in signature

You can also post a pic in your signature like I did. Very Happy But you have to type the [img][/img] around the URL after you have pasted it in the signature box. Please keep the image small though.

i is for italicize.

Emoticons

To use an emoticons, just click on the one that you want to use if it's in the left hand side of the posting screen. However you can't see all the emoticons there so be sure to click View more Emoticons. A new screen will come up and it will show them all. Click on the one that you want to use and it should bring you back to the posting screen with a little code like this :text: except the text will have the emoticons name in it. Or it could bring up a simplied version that may looks something like this (: except when you post it, it'll be the actual emoticon.

Basic Quoting

to quote a past reply all you have to do is go to the top right section of their post and click on the "quote" button. this will automatically set up the quoting format and all you have to do is enter your message.

Advanced Quoting
Go to the top of the "post a reply" screen and click on "Quote." This will bring up something that says
Quote:

once you have done this you may enter what you wish to be quoted. at the end click on the "Quote" button which should now say "Quote*"

it should make the characters
appear at the end of that section of your message. oh and that should be put in a quote so...

then enter your message.

Proffesional Quoting

If, for any reason, you are unable to quote someone using the above methods you can resort to typing in [quote=
that would immediately be followed by the username in close quotations of who you are quoting and the character of ]. Then you could type in what they said or copy-paste it from the "topic review" at the bottom of the page. At the end put [/quote] and everything should turn out good.

Image Linking

This is a little more complicated. First you'll need to get the URL of the image that you want to have as a link. You post it so it should look like this
Code:
[img]http://your_image_url.com/[/img]
So the code should look like that right now and when you post it as how it is, then it should just bring up the image.
Example:
So while it looks like
Code:
[img]http://your_image_url.com/[/img]
Now you need to add the URL to it and to do that you need to highlight the code, like what is showing in the box, and push the URL button. So now your code should look something like this
Code:
[url][img]http://your_image_url.com/[/img][/url]
.
Then where the first [url] is, click between the L and the ] and type = and paste the link that you want the image to link to between the = and ] . Here's what it should look like when your done:
Code:
[url=http://image_link_url][img]http://your_image_url.com/[/img][/url]

So now that's all done, this is what it should be like if I wanted the previous image to link to my forums home page:

Now just click the fox kit and it'll bring you back to my home page.

Text Linking

To have any word you want to be a link to any site you want do the following.

One: type the word that you want.
Two: highlight the word.
Three: click URL
Four: put the cursor right [urlhere] and push =
Five: past the URL of the link that you want [url=here]

Now it should look like this:

[url=linkurl.com]Text[/url]

Colors and Size

To change the color of something, highlight the word or paragraph or whatever and go to the Font Color: box and choose the color that you like. Or if you know the HEX code of the color you can type the code [color=here]Text[/color].

To change the size is the same way. Except there is no fancy way to do that.

Bulletting

To bullet something, you first need to highlight all the paragraphs that you want to have a bullet infront of and then press the List button above the font size box.

So that this code will show around all you highlighted text:
Code:
[list][/list]

Now go to each paragraph at the beggining and type [*], that's the code for bulletting;

  • Example

Code:
[list][*]Example[/list]

Previewing

Using the preview button is the best way to learn and to see that the post is coming out the way that you want it to. If any dout always click preview. In doing so you can learn the other codes and see how they all look.
Who knows you may even find out some more stuff that you didn't know, I know I have. That little button has helped me alot.

Screen Shots

To get a screen shot, you must first find the button that will do the action for you. Now every keyboard is different but it's generally in the top left-hand corner of the key board and will have either: "PrtSc" or "Print Screen" with "Sys Req" below it depending on the keyboard. My laptop, that I always am on here with, has PrtSc Sys Req, but my family computer has Print Screen Sys Req; so it's differnet with every keyboard and computer.
Now after you pressed this button to copy your screen, it won't look like it did anything but all it did was send the screen shot to your clipboard. Got to MS Paint or something and press Ctrl + V or paste to get your screen shot in the program so you can mess with it. Once you're done cropping it or whatever, save it to your computer and got to

Private Messaging

To send some one a private message (PM), you can go to somewhere where they posted and go to the bottom of their post and press the "PM" button that'll be next to their "Profile" button.

Or go to their file by just clicking their name when it has that link and click the "PM" button from there. The "PM" button will take you instantly to a screen where you can type you private message.
