True, as long as we remember Christmas is about celebrating the birth of our Lord Jesus Christ and watching the childrens Nativity and giving thanks and hoping he comes again in person soon.

Christmas has got a bit too commercialised but i still celebrate it and iam not the only one to much my way through tons of chocolate and mince pies and turkeu over the festive period Cool

I think if everyone just gave homemade things, which have more thought and meaning to them, Christmas would be better, because something you make comes from your heart. I made a few things this year, but i did buy things for people to. Christmas is about the birth of Jesus, and we all need to keep that in our mind, because a lot of people get to caught up in goods, and forget what Christmas is really about.

Merry Christmas

Hugs

Oh, I do love making things for people, it's so fun to do. But I'd feel bad for those who aren't artists if homemade gifts were traditional, I know I'd feel terrible if I could never give something people like.

It's odd, and contradictory to common opinion, but I don't mind the materialism around the holidays, since the other half of that is the joy of giving. Little kids focus on receiving, but they grow to appreciate giving in time. I suppose this is more of my take on Christmas simply because I have been raised as an atheist; my family takes the holiday at its base meanings, instead of considering history.

I love getting and giving material things, its just the times i have given and recieved things that have been made i can see that the person i gave it to really liked it and i liked what they gave to me
