I have a dog, named Penny, or Penelope. She is a Rhodesian Ridgeback.

They look like this, and have a ridge of impossible-to-comb hair running down their back, hence the name. THEY'RE SO CUTE!!! They were bred in Africa in the 17/1800's to hunt leopards and lions. She weighs 80 pounds [more than I do], and she is strong enough to pull me across the kitchen floor [I weigh 70 pounds Embarassed

] She LOVES to chew on bones, her stuffed squirrel, and my friend's ankles Embarassed

. She is a really great dog!

Shes very nice and cuddly and its funny how they like to do mischievious things like chew your friends ankles!

What a nice big dog!!!!.. ....... :mrgreen: I wonder just how big is Penny?
In the pic she looks like she has a puppy face.

Well, that's not Penny, just a random Rhodesian Ridgeback. I don't know how to post a picture I take Studying

I LOVE RHODESIAN RIDGEBACKS!!!!! They are just the sweetest things! I would love to have one, and yes what you said about the hair on the back is true, it is impossible to comb out to be any other way than in that ridge pattern that it grew into. My only question is how did they get that trait started in the breed?

I have never been able to figure that out, but still though, they are beautiful dogs.

Wow, Penny's one big dog! It's awesome that she can pull you across the floor, in my opinion, at least.

As far as posting a pic you take, just upload it (not sure what kinda camera you have, so it may not be able to do that) onto your computer. Then go to my documents, click on my pictures. Then go to the pic of Penny and right click on it. Click on the thing that says properties. And then copy and paste the URL of the pic. You can look at one of our help and support topics for further info on how to post a pic here. Smile
