Ooc: Let's have this one with only very subtle fantasy, and keep it just animals.
Edit: For now, just jump on in- I don't need a request. I'll edit this post when I think there shouldn't be more characters. But a warning- my characters will react very realistically to other species. They might not be able to understand the words of foxes or dogs very well.

Bic:Tazkaera strode out into the grassy field. The scent of other wolves was on the wind, but not a pack, only a few loners. She couldn't blame them for coming here. The elk herd was small, but there wasn't another wolf pack for sixty miles and there was always the delicacy of fish for those who knew how to catch them. Yes, Taz was very pleased with this place. Only one thing left her wondering.

Why had the packs avoided this land?

Foben crashed through the grass. It was high on him, though it didn't reach even up to Tazkaera's stomach. I caught a chipmunk! He held it up proudly, wanting the older wolf to try and take it. He hadn't had a playmate in a while. Foben saw her looking at the elk, and he dropped the dead rodent. Are you going to catch one of those for me?

Tazkaera laughed softly. I'm just one wolf. We'll have to wait for the sick and old.

The pup scowled. That will take forever. I could catch one if I wanted to. He picked up the chipmunk, laid down, and started to eat.

Of course you could. She sat next to the young wolf, alert, but for the first time in months, relaxed.

(ooc: I had to go back and look at my wolf profile, forgot what my character was about but ok. I'll have a wolf in this one for now.)

BIC: Shadow also looked out among the herd. He waited carefully and hidden in the shadows. His great skill in hunting and stealthy is what earned him his name. Some of the elk came rather close to him with out them noticing but he waited for the right one.

There were plenty of small herds here and Shadow could smell other wolves. He wondered why the elk didn't smell them, they probably don't have such great sense of smell.

Shadow waited for the whole herd to pass and the older elk were lingering in the back. Keeping pace, Shadow trailed the elk herd. Generally in the shadows, he was prepared to pounce.

((ooc: btw, sorry if you wanted me to request to join first but if you want I'll delete this post so I can officially ask you to join your story))

Ooc: It is perfectly fine that you joined. I'll probably edit my first post asking people to stop joining when there are enough characters.

Bic: Foben slowly grew bored with his meal. And annoyed that the other wolves wouldn't come play with him. Catching the closest wolf scent, he followed it easily and left Tazkaera looking in the other direction.

As he padded closer to the wolf, still unable to see it but easily following by scent, Tazkaera turned and realized her charge had crept off. Angry and a bit worried, she followed his trail.

bic: Shadow smelt a wolf getting closer, a couple of wolves at that. He'd hurry and kill the elk so that no one else took it.

Shadow ran in the shadows at the edge of the meadow, he was running paraell with the herd. When he was in a good range, he jumped out of the shadows and charged for the elk. They scattered and he trailed one.

Shadow followed this elk which was not the easiest to catch but it was not the strongest so it'd would be fine. He followed it on it's crazy trail that it led him on, trying to lose him.

Shadow leaped and grabbed hold of the elks back, the elk tried to buck him off. Shadow bit in the elk's neck and his fangs sank in. He used all of his bodyweight trying to get the elk off it's feet. The flesh around the elk's neck started to tear as his fangs were deep in.

One final try, Shadow forced the elk to the ground. He stood over it and broke it's neck quickly. Shadow looked at where the elk brought him, he was on the far end of the meadow behind a few trees.

Shadow started to eat, this meal would last him for a week or two.

((ooc: sorry if i was a bit 'graphic,' afterall, I still am sixteen and I can't act as mature as I usually do all the time. I might have a 'bloodlust'.

Foben brightened up as he saw the wolf. Why would I want one of those? You have to be obedient in packs. He wrinkled his nose. Quick pawsteps approached from where he had come, and Foben looked behind him.
Tazkaera snarled at him briefly for leaving, but them turned her attention to the new wolf. Greetings. Who might you be? She spoke confidently, knowing that for once no one held status here, unlike in the other packlands.

Tazkaera was tempted to keep others out, to avoid such stresses, but knew that wasn't best for Foben. Yes, you may stay here. She pointedly didn't mention a pack. After a moment's hesitation, I'm called Tazkaera. This is my charge, Foben. She watched the black wolf take down its prey over the other wolf's shoulder, wondering that one wolf would be that bold, considering it had come to this land so recently.

Foben stood a little taller, raising his tail proudly. I could take one now, but Taz won't let me.

To be perfectly honest, I have yet to explore or claim this territory. I would appreciate some help in the chore. She looked once more at the feeding wolf uneasily, not knowing what should be done about him.

Taz smiled, amused by the wolf. Would you show it to me please?

Ooc: I need to think of something interesting to happen... :P

Shadow finished much of his meal, and he looked over at the other three wolves who were introducing themselves. Shadow tore off a large chunk of meat and carried it with him. He went to the wolf's gaterhing and tried to figure out who it was that he'd offer this meat to.

Shadow went up to the wolves and set the meat down in the middle of them and backed off. "My name is Shadow, is this a pack?"
