"It's a human weapon, I brought it in to get it away from the humans." Tyden limped to the den's entrance and lied down. The sun was getting lower in the sky now. "I'll get rid of the weapon later."

Tyden hasn't eaten anything since this morning and he was getting hungry again. He couldn't hunt as weakened as he is now but that's one of the reasons why he always kept his cache places full.

Struggling, Tyden got back up and walked a few meters away from the den and started to dig, not at Seth's fish cache but his own. He dug up some rabbit meat and berries.

"There'll never be a need to hunt for me, I'm careful about using the food in my caches." Tyden placed the dirt back and made it look as if there was never any food there, he'd refill as soon as he heals up again. Tyden lied back down there and closed his eyes; he was tired and needs some rest.

Looking over the weapon thing, Seth goes over his thoughts once again. I will not fear, for if I do then it will over take me. My feelings will not control me because I will control them.
Feeling hungry himself, Seth begins digging out the last of the fish. He rips a small piece off of it, and then eats it. After eating a few more small pieces, he asks, “How long does the food stay till it becomes inedible?” He never needed to coach anything before though he knew how to, Seth never thought about it till now. Every morning at the sanctuary he had been given some kind of food, some mornings it was mice, others it was meat from a can. But now he needed to learn more about everything out here. Seth spoke up, “Tyden, when you are better will you teach me what you know, about living out here?

Tyden opened his eyes again but did not bother to get up. He looked up at Seth and said,"Sure, I'll teach you about the wild. As for the food, it's always good for me. Sometimes worms will crawl around the food but I don't mind them that much. I prefer just to swallow worms rather than chew them but when they get in my caches, I chew them with the rest of the food."

Tyden closed his eyes again and turned his head. He notice the sun's rays leave his body as the sun sunk beneath the horizon. "I'll be fine by tormorrow. Get some rest Seth; you could say that's lesson one, get plenty of rest so you have energy to use when it is needed."

“Well ok Tyden, you know best, and thanks.” Seth knew his friend was right; he would need plenty of rest.

The sun was now setting as Tyden rested Seth just laid there wondering if the humans will be back. If they ever did they would have two foxes to contend with. Seth looked up at the night sky. The moon was at its crescent, clouds swept by, and a cold wind now blew. Seth looked in the distance a storm was on its way. Seth didn’t want to wake Tyden and he wasn’t sure if the storm would pass. Hearing crickets he knew that the temperature was going down, the storm would be coming here too.

Seeing the clouds darken, Seth decides to wake Tyden. “Tyden. A storm is on its way.” A few small drops of rain fall.
“We got to go into the den”
Seth stands ready to help Tyden get into the den.

Tyden was awoken by Seth. He also noticed the wind and drop in tempature, it was true that a storm will be coming.

Most of the pain was gone as expected but he still was soar and drained of energy. Tyden stood up and worked his way toward the den; he only needed Seth's help a bit.

Soon, Tyden was inside the den. The middle part was the largest and had the most room so that's where he went to lie down. The den still had ash in it from the fire but it only helped with comfort. The strom brewed above and rain poured down. The den has been through many storms like this; the entrances are protected by trees and theirs a layer of clay was above the den's roof so the den would be able to withstand the storm.

Tyden relaxed and closed his eyes again, though it was a little more difficult to sleep now with the thunder and he had a strange dream; the dream was of fire and metal. All dark, there were other foxes in cages and humans running around, some panicking others grabbing the cages of foxes. Tyden had no idea what was going on.

Tyden woke without knowing what the dream was about, he looked around and saw Seth still sleeping. It was still raining outside and Seth felt hot, as if he's been out running all day in the sun. Tyden looked around one more time before he rested again and fell back asleep.

Awaking early in the morning, Seth opened his eyes. He could hear the rain coming down, as he stretched.

He wondered what troubles this day would bring. What new fear will I have to face? Now looking at Tyden he remembers the dream of the first night. How do I fight that? How do I protect my new friend? As he thinks, his heart starts stirring. I will do everything I can do. I don’t know what I can do but I will learn.

This new courage wells up in him, and he lays back down telling himself, I can do what I need to do. What ever that may be. I will help protect my friend and his land.
He trails off to sleep with his heart feeling encouraged.

Tyden woke up in the early morning, he looked around, Seth was still sleeping and the storm was now gone and the air was cool.

Now the pain was completely gone but his muscles felt completely depleted. Tyden crawled out of the den and looked around; the sun was up and shown brightly through the clouds and all the plants were still wet with the ground.

Tyden walked over to the stream, he could now use his leg but every step caused more pain to shoot up his leg. He ignored it.

The stream was cool and Tyden drank from it; it still took him longer than usual but he wasn't limping anymore. Tyden walked back to the den but did not go in, he waited for Seth to wake up and come out.

When Seth finally did awake, he yawned a long yawn. Looking around and not seeing Tyden he went outside. Outside Seth yawned again, then looked at Tyden.

“You feel any better today?” Seth knew that Tyden would be feeling better but he also knew that he still wouldn’t be at his best.
Seth now looking all around, he saw raindrops falling off of the tree over the den. One drops on his nose, and he snaps at it.
Seth felt he needed something. He wasn’t hungry he didn’t know what it was he just felt something.
“ I’m going to do one of my runs today I think.” That was it he needed to run and remember he had strength. "I will keep near this side of the tracks. Don’t worry I’m not afraid of the train anymore. I just need to run.” He then turns to Tyden and asks “that ok with you?”

The sun was up in the sky, a small breeze blow and the birds were singing again.

Tyden stretched, stood up and stretched his back leg again, pain wrapped around it but he ignored it. The two bullet wounds, on his cheek and thigh, were healing up fine. Cursed train.

Alright, just be careful. The humans were droven off so it should be safe. Tyden looked at Seth then back toward the human's camp then back toward the stream then toward the lake that the stream ran into. I might be at the lake, I know you haven't been there before but just follow the stream and you should find it.

Tyden headed off for the lake but stopped to see what Seth would do.

“Ok then see you at the lake” Seth then runs off.

Now at the tracks he slows to a walk and follows the tracks. Now thinking about what he had told himself earlier in the morning he starts again.

“I will do everything I can do. I will do everything I can do. I WILL do EVERYTHING I can do” his voice now sounding all around.

As he finishes the last few words he runs with all his might as fast as he can go. His heart starts again; “one day I will defend all my brothers. One day those humans will know what kind of animal I am. I AM… A FOX!”

Seth runs now, pressing his little muscles to the limits. He continues on for thirty more minutes. Stopping he pants dripping his dry tongue. There is a bridge for the train over the river.

Walking down from the tracks he goes towards the river. He needs a drink badly. He had been running for almost a hour and a half. Now with his tongue wet he looks down the river and wonders where it leads. I should go back. He takes another drink. I will see if this river takes me to the lake that Tyden was talking about.
Seth follows the river and eventually it widens to a lake. Now walking on the shore of the lake he sees Tyden in the distance. Seth had been gone for 3 hours now.

“This must the place” he says to himself.

Walking slowly to Tyden, Seth now is hungry. With one last burst of speed and surprise, Seth catches a seagull. Dragging it with it over his shoulder in the fox fashion. The sand in his paws, Seth knows he can do more then he ever thought.

Reaching Tyden, he offers the first bite. “I caught it” Seth says surprised. “I did it all by myself” The bird was bigger then he was.

Tyden was dripping wet, he just came out of the lake after swimming. Looking at Seth, Tyden was a little surprised to see a dead seagull hanging from his mouth. Tyden rarely caught any birds.

"Your catch, your meal." It was not right for Tyden to take the first bite out of someone else's kill. Tyden waded back out into the water, swimming kept him exercising his leg and healed his wounds.

Tyden didn't go all the way in the water, he stood there and let the water lap around his legs. Tyden looked back at Seth.

Ripping out some of the feathers, Seth takes the first bite. Eating his fill Seth lies on the beach looking out at the water.

*Yawn* after running all that way and now with a full stomach, he feels content. Resting he eyes, Seth could hear the waves on the shore. With Tyden in the water and Seth on the shore, the afternoon was slowly passing by. It was a good day to just lie for a while, not worrying about … what ifs.

Seth now feeling rested he goes about burring the rest of the bird. Taking it up the beach, he digs another deep hole.

Now with the bird under the sand, he has sand all over his fur. Now running toward Tyden, Seth jumps far out into the water. *Splash* Seth flies under the water. “Its nice and cool out here” swimming toward Tyden. With a few playful splashes he smiles at whom he considers a brother.

Every so often Seth dives under to get farther inshore.

When Seth splashed Tyden, he glared at him. Then he laughed and tackled Seth and pushed him underwater. Tyden swam toward shore and got out of the water, he shook dry and looked back at Seth.

Tyden felt happier now, it also made the pain go away. Everything he needed to do to fully heal was nearly finished. He just needed to rest after his excercise so he lied down in the sand and watch Seth play in the water.

The sun shown brightly and made Tyden dry quickly, he relaxed there. This procedure came regular to him as he did after he was injured. Usually after this rest, he'd be nearly fully healed. Only time can mend some things.

Seth now laughing and playing in the water, he was truly happy.
When he was at the sanctuary, the other foxes where not friendly, that was the prime reason that made him try harder and run faster. Then came Dan his only friend at the sanctuary. Dan always encouraged Seth; in fact Dan was the one that named him. They would play in the small pond, and catch fish only to find that the fish wasn’t real. But Seth only had seen it as a game so he didn’t care aslong as he had a friend.

Now looking at Tyden lying on the beach, Seth wonders could there ever come a time when he would need to find his own territory?

Seth jumped underneath the water, now trying to move the sand under his feet. Deciding that was enough water play for him, he leaves the water. Tyden looking almost dry, Seth smiles. He walks over to Tyden and shakes off the water and runs away. Laughing, he looks to the sun now low in the sky.

Tyden was showered with the water that Seth shook off on him. He raised his head and shook it again to dry. Seth was a few feet away, laughing. Tyden stood up, he felt well now, nearly fully healed.

Tyden walked over to Seth casually and when Seth was close enough, Tyden pushed him. He laughed and ran towards his den.

Tyden loved having company, he's been alone for as far back as he could remember and now it was as if he had a brother to play with. All of his trust was being placed with Seth. For the first time in a long time, Tyden was happy.

Inside the den, Tyden grabbed the human's gun and drug it out. He brought it back over to the stream and threw it in. It would no longer work now. Tyden took a drink and then looked up only to see a gorgeous vixen taking a drink from the stream, he stopped and stared at her buety.

(ooc: I'm bringing my new character into the story here but below is what happened before she came the stream, bic)

Elynal has been travelling for days, she has never been so far away from her home den. The day was coming to the den and she was getting hungry; she looked around, no food. She looked up at the trees, the birds chirped. I guess another bird will have to do, she though to herself. She walked on her chosen path, looking up to see which one had a good-sized bird in it. She found a robin in a tree and though that that would have to do well enough.

Elynal climbed the tree carefully, trying to make no noise. She got on a branch and looked at the bird. She inched her way without the bird noticing anything. When she was close enough, she prepared to pounce. The bird turned it's head and noticed the danger and attempted to take off. Elynal jumped and brought her paw down on the bird. She jumped to the ground and slammed the bird into the ground.

A few minutes later, she continued on her path with some feathers hanging from her mouth. She walked her chosen direction until a stream crossed her path, she sat and took a drink. There was a splash infront of her but she ignored it, thinking it was just a fish. She looked up a moment later to see a handsome fox staring at her. The fox's mouth dropped open and water spilled out. She giggled then bent down to take another drink but saw her reflection to see feathers and blood still on her lips. Elynal blushed and was embarrased.

Elynal tried to wash her lips in the water then lick them, she was so embarrased.

(Tyden POV) Tyden was also embarrased because he let the water fall from his mouth, he licked his lips but when he saw the vixen blush, he thought it was cute. "I-I'm Ty-Ty-Tyden,"Tyden spat out, he cursed himself for being so nervous, he never felt this feeling before.

(Elynal POV) She giggled again and said with a sweet voice, "I'm Elynal. But you can call me Ely."
