As they walked around the camp, Seth breathed deeply. The smell of hotdogs was slowly getting to him. A small dripping sound could be heard. Seth had his tongue hanging out, now thinking of what kind of meat it was that he smelled. If only there was a way to get one little piece of meat from the campers. Before Tyden noticed Seth was gone.

He ran all around the camp being careful not to be seen. Sneaking from behind the “campers” he looked for his opportunity to grab the package from beside one of the guys sitting on a log. When he put down the package, Seth went right for it. One of the campers stood up and seen him, grabbing the hotdogs he ran as fast as he could.
“What’s wrong Mike?” said the one that put the package down.
“I think a cat just took your dogs. Man.” Mike said with a surprised look.
“A cat? There are no cats around here.”
Mike responds, “I don’t know what it was but it was so fast I didn’t get a good look at it.”
“Now that you have learned your lesson, don’t put your food on the ground anymore,” says a third camper.

When Seth returned to where Tyden was he offered him a hotdog. “The smell was just too good. I’m sorry.” Seth was just the kind of fox that most people have never seen. “They thought I was a cat,” he continues. Ripping a bigger hole in the package Seth pulls out a hotdog.
"You want one?" Seth didn’t have a healthy fear of humans.

Tyden looked at the hot dog package with large eyes in shock. "You took those from those humans!?" Tyden kicked the hotdogs away from Seth. Tyden gave Seth a nudge, trying to push him so he'd get running. "Go, run!" Tyden gave him another push. "We'll be lucky if those humans don't come after us. I sure hope they don't have guns."

Seth pick up one last hot dog and ran. He just ran, didn’t see that Tyden was well behind him.
Seth continued to run not even really knowing why, they were just campers right? I have gotten Tyden mad again. Seth ran all the way back to where the train had been only to find train tracks. Then there was this loud sound that came from nowhere. It was a train. Seth was afraid. He just froze as the train rushed toward him. The thundering sound of the train shaking the ground, Seth couldn’t move.
Seth just crouched as low as he could, but the train didn’t stop.

Seth felt Tyden's teeth wrap around him and yank him out of the way before the train flew by. Seth hit the ground a few feet and skidded a bit. Tyden went over and stood next to him, "You okay?" Without waiting for an answer, Tyden stepped over Seth and looked off to where the campers were at. "It might have taken the humans a little time to figure out what you were, but they now know that you were a fox." Tyden sniffed the air and smelt gun powder. Blood ran down his fur on his cheek where a bullet knicked him a minute ago. "It' probably be best to stay around here for a while, the humans won't travel this far. Sneaky humans, kept their guns in their vehicles. . . I tried to bury the hot dogs so that they wouldn't know that we took them but they got their guns pretty quick." He looked over at Seth, "I can't blame you, I should have warned you of all humans. They'll kill us for sport, profit or just because they're afraid of animals."

The train passed and the forest became silent again. Tyden walked over the tracks onto the other side and told Seth to follow him. He was far outside of his territories boundry but he has followed Seth here but they needed to be sure to lose the humans.

((OOC: I realize that I did tell part of this from Seth's point of view but I tried not to take control of Seth so sorry if I did.))

Seth just sat there. He had never noticed how scary a train could be.

Seth found himself wishing he had been able to stay at the sanctuary. There where too many new dangers that he didn’t know about.
He followed Tyden where he led.
How many things did he still need to learn about being in the wild? He had thought that all he needed was to be able to find food. “Thank you Tyden for saving me, but I think I have brought more trouble to you then you can handle.” He seen the blood on Tyden’s cheek, “Did you cut your self?”
Seth now though about how his new friend was in danger because of him. Why did I need to take the package from the humans? Seth then found himself thinking back to Dan and the cage, wasn’t I safer in the cage? He had made so many dumb mistakes. What am I going to do now?

Tyden turned his head away from Seth so the cut was no longer seen. "Just another wound." Tyden led Seth through the unknown territory. "I don't mind the company, no matter how much trouble you may be." Tyden smiled at Seth in a joking matter, "But if you were in a sanctuary and travelling in a cage, most likely that you were to be released in the wild sometime soon so it'd be best to not think of the 'what ifs'. And as for those humans back there, there's too many of them for me to chase them away so there's no need to think that you're holding me back."

The sun was high in the sky and Tyden started to get a little uncomfortable as more scents were picked up. They seemed to be entering the territory of another fox. Hopefully the fox has moved on from this border and they might be safe here for a little while.

Seth still a bit shook up, followed Tyden as they went. Now with his nose to the ground Seth smelled everything, trying to understand what the new smells where. Seth could hear the birds and feel the wind on his face.
“What are we going to do about the humans?” Seth found himself asking.
After the hot dog experience he knew there where more to these hunters then he could imagine.
“I mean to say, are we going to wait them out? Or are we doing something different?”
Seth now looked a bit more timid. He couldn’t understand everything his new friend did, but at least now Seth trusted that Tyden knew what he was doing.

"There are too many humans for me to get rid of so we'll have to wait for them to leave." Tyden lied down, stretched out. "Though the humans looked like they were going to stay for a while so it may be awhile before they leave."

Tyden looked at the sky and looked at Seth, Seth still looked uncomfortable, "We may need to stay here a couple days, the humans won't be gone for a while. Relax Seth, there's no more danger." Tyden tried to comfort Seth but the truth was if the fox that owned this territory cam back, they have no where else to go but back into Tyden's territory where the humans are. But hopefully they'll the fox won't come back for a couple days, it'd give the humans time to go away.

Seth now relaxed; Tyden knew what he was doing and if he said relax then Seth would relax.

Just before laying down, Seth stretches his front and back legs out. There was no point worrying, for it wouldn’t do any good, besides Tyden was here and it didn’t seem like he was going anywhere. He was just too tired of worrying. Seth just let it go.

Closing his eyes, he could here the birds singing. Maybe a nap is all he needed. Yeah that’s it, everything will be better after a nap. Peace just rested on Seth for the first time since he was at the sanctuary. Tyden was there after all and he knew what to do with these new human hunters. Sleep now filled Seth as he lay, and soon he was fast asleep.

Tyden noticed that Seth was sleeping, Good, he needs the rest.

Tyden looked for some water; he needed to wash his cheek off from the blood. He didn't mind the scratch, it'd just be another scar but he didn't want Seth to think that he couldn't take care of himself, let alone Seth too.

Tyden listened to the woods, trying to hear some running water as he walked along; it did not take long before he heard a stream. He ran to it and realized that it was the same stream that runs through his territory. Tyden turned his head and put the wound in the water; the blood rinsed away. Tyden withdrew his head and shook the water off.

Tyden looked back at where Seth was sleeping, He'll be fine, he'll just sleep for a while. Tyden walked with the stream back toward his territory, soon he found the tracks and realized that a small bridge has been built over the stream. The stream led him right where he wanted to go, his territory.

The air still smelt of campfire, human, and gun powder. Tyden carefully walked toward the camp site again. Soon he could hear the humans talking and laughing. Tyden approached carefully until the humans were in sight. They had their guns lying against their chairs and once again they were cooking food. Do humans ever stop eating?

Though Tyden has only been there for less than a minute, one of the humans noticed him and told the others. Tyden didn’t need to think twice about it, he ran; but rather than back to Seth, he ran to his den. He as been chased many times and knew how to get rid of humans. The humans chased him all the way to his den where he jumped in but not to hide; he built the den just right. He ran quickly through the den and came out the emergency den about ten meters away from the other entrance. Now he went to hide but keep an eye on the humans who were trying to get in the den and get Tyden out. The humans found the other entrance of the den and would have trapped Tyden if he was still in the den.

As Tyden predicted, the humans stuffed a lot of dry grass in the den and lit it on fire. They were attempting to smoke him out; humans stood at both entrances and had their guns aimed at the entrances. This is about the sixth time that den has been on fire, luckily the few roots that are in there are always wet.

The fire burned all the way through and the humans looked stunned and started to curse. They headed back toward the campsite discussing about Tyden and how dumb he must have been to burn alive . . . but one of the humans stayed behind trying to think how the fox could have withstood the flames.

Tyden watched the humans from twenty meters away, his eyesight was not that good but he could tell that one of the humans lagged behind, Perfect Tyden waited for the other humans to have some good distance between the one that stayed behind.

When the human that stayed behind gave it up and also started to go back, Tyden chose that moment to attack. He went close behind the human without it noticing. The gun was strapped around the human’s chest and was being carried on its back. With all his strength, Tyden jumped on the humans back and bit at the gun strap. The force of the fox jumping on the human knocked it over. The gun strap snapped but Tyden didn’t have time to rejoice fore the human got up and knocked Tyden off. The human reached for the gun but Tyden jumped at the human’s arm and let his teeth sink in. The human screamed in pain and brought his arm up to chest level. Tyden didn’t just hang there until the human shook him off, Tyden brought his legs up and pushed off the human’s chest which forced the human back on the ground and Tyden a few feet away.

However the human did not except defeat and reached for the gun again. Typical humans. Tyden jumped at the human again but this time at it’s throat. Tyden’s teeth sunk in and he tasted blood. The human screamed again and struggled. This human must be the dumbest one I ever came encounter with. Tyden jerked the humans neck a couple times signaling for it to stop struggling. The human finally did and played dead. Tyden laughed, This humans seriously thinks I’m that dumb? However Tyden didn’t need to kill the human so he started to walk away. He grabbed the gun though and drug it far inside his den where the human wouldn’t be able to get it. Then he went outside the other entrance and headed back toward where Seth was. But as soon as he came out the other side of the den, he heard gunshots and felt a new hot pain on his right thigh. Tyden didn’t need to look back to know that the other humans heard the screams and came running to help their friend.

Tyden ran back to Seth but he soon hears another obstacle, a train was coming. If that trained passed before Tyden could cross the tracks, then he’d be trapped. He ran as fast as he could and raced the train. As soon as the tracks were in sight, so was the train coming around the hill. Tyden ran and the train roared. Tyden jumped over the tracks with the train no more than a foot away, he though he cleared it until he felt his back leg get it which caused him to spin and hit the ground hard. Tyden didn’t have time to deal with the pain so he got up and continued toward where Seth was. He couldn’t use his back left leg so he limped his way toward Seth.

There were no more dangers on the way and he soon found Seth still sleeping. He limped over to Seth and lied down next to him. Tyden rested his head on Seth’s body and closed his eyes, he was tired. He still had the human’s blood on his muzzle and teeth; his own blood was in the back of his throat and bled from the bullet wound in his thigh and from where he was hit by the train. Tyden was loosing consciousness, though he was used to the feeling now.

With the sound of the train Seth awoke. He then felt Tyden on him and peace returned. Knowing that he was there was all that he needed.
After half an hour, Seth pulled himself out from Tyden; Seth stretched all of his muscles, and looked at Tyden. Horror filled his mind where there once was peace. He went over to Tyden to see all what was wrong with him. There was the smell of humans and blood all around him. Why did he go back to the humans? No, Tyden knew what he was doing, isn’t it about time that I know what I can do? I must face my fear.

The train still roaring by “you hear me Train?” Seth barks. He then runs beside the train barking at it.
“I’m not going to let you make me afraid anymore,” he yells with tears coming down.
“Not you or the humans!” The train continues on as Seth runs, he now is keeping up to it.
With a sudden sound, the brakes of the train slow Seth now has doubt in his mind. As the train slows fear starts to well up in him.
“NO!” Seth barks, “I’m not going to fear you, never again. YOU HEAR ME!! NEVER!!” Seth continues to bark as the train starts to speed up again. On the side of the train as it rushes by, Seth can only be heard by himself. But he doesn’t stop barking at the train till it is gone.

It was many hours later before Tyden became conscious once again. As his consious grew so did the pain. He stood up though and limped toward where the stream was.

Every muscle ached and his leg was still unuseable. Tyden was short of breath and he was going slow.

Though the stream was close and he found it well enough. He limped into it and collasped. He soaked up the water and the blood rinsed away. He closed his eyes and the cold water went through his fur. Well, if it wasn't for those other humans, I'd be just fine. At least they're gone now and we can return to the dens. Those humans should be gone now and they won't be returning for a while. No human shall take a shot at me and think they're going to get away with it.

Tyden opened his eyes again. The water was not deep at all so Tyden would just relax there. Where did Seth go?

When the train leaves Seth walks back to where Tyden was. He had run quite far from where Tyden was.
On his arrival Seth notices that Tyden has left.
A few drops of blood are left on the ground.
Seth now, felt more confident and surer of himself. Never again would he let fear grab hold of him.
Seeing how little blood there was, he knows Tyden is going to be ok.
I wonder where he went. Sniffing out the trail, he finds Tyden in the near by stream. Without going closer Seth runs off to see if the hunters have left. He sees that the domes are gone and there is not a fire or anything that he can see, he was 100 yards away.
Returning to the stream he asks, “are you ok Tyden?”

Only moving his eyes, Tyden looked at Seth, "Yeah, I'm fine. I'm just tired." Tyden looked away from Seth, he didn't like looking like this. Tyden struggled to get up, his legs were shaking and the water was running off of him. Tyden walked out of the stream still wtihout the use of his leg.

"Let's get back to my den," Tyden said and started to limp towards his den.

As they walk to Tyden’s den, Seth never strays away from his friend knowing now that he was the one that drove the humans away.
Seth looks all around making sure that there is no more danger. The smell of smoke now filled his nose, the den had been set on fire in the last few hours.

Seth ran to the den when it was within site. He wanted to make sure that everything would be save for Tyden. Stepping into the den Seth see something shiny. At the site of the gun Seth feels fear, but won’t give in to it. “There is something shiny in here,” now talking from inside the den. “do you know what it is?”
