Hey, everyone! I'm having issues, and I wonder if anyone else here is a FireFox user and can help me out a bit.

I just installed FireFox as my web browser (up until today I've used the latest version of Internet Explorer). I'm just getting used to it right now, but I'm having an issue logging in onto this forum on FireFox.

I put in my Username and Password, and hit submit like always, and it sends me back to the Forum Index as if it accepted the password, only I'm still not logged in. I've repeated the proccess with the same results. (FireFox shows multiple security errors in it's error console as well) I know the problem isn't neccesarily at your end, because I can still log in here just fine when I use IE. (That's how I'm able to post this message)

Has anyone else here had similar problems with FireFox on this forum, or ForumUp in general? I'd appreciate the help.

I'm using Firefox (now 3.5), and I don't have any problem. Have you installed extensions? Cookies are enabled? Did you try to delete cookies?

Yeah, I downloaded FireFox 3.5 from thier website. No addons at this point.

Cookies...I didn't think of that. I just transferred everything from IE. I'll clear the cookies and see if that helps. probably should have done that in the first place, only some of the cookies I wanted to keep.

EDIT: Yay, it worked! Problem solved. But I still can't help but wonder what exactly cookies had to do with anything.

Yep, works like a charm now. Just spent the morning installing add-ons and what not; I am really begining to like FireFox! Wondering why I never bothered to switch browsers before. Rolling Eyes

I suggest you AdBlockPlus and NoScript: no more annoying AD, popups and so on Wink

Actually, wildstray, according to the popup blocker tests I use, FireFox is doing an excellent job on its own. I'm not worried about popups and ads. And trust me, I am very thorough with my laptop's security.

Download helper I've got. Foxmarks? I'll check it out. I've also AnyColor (combined with Personas) and FoxTab. Those three together kept me busy most of the morning trying out different themes.

Haven't ever had problems with forumup with Firefox (3.0). But if deleting your cookies helped, I think the problem was with forumup, not with Firefox. Maybe a cookie that conflicts with another one. Dunno.
Anyway, the problem is solved Smile

Ps: I second adblockplus. It really helps to filter the content out of the ads. (Some page I visit makes reading the content really hard with all those flashing and floating ads)
