well, monday was being what it does best...being monday and that means being the slowest and most "meh" day of the week, in 3rd class period (biology, my best and favorite class) we had a guest come and show us some stuff, and blah, near the end of class we all were given these special goggles that prevent certain light waves from getting through, what we was being shown was pretty cool, these lil things called daphnia were fed sugar that had stuff that made them glow in a certain light (and this light was not to be looked at without goggles) and so we had the goggles on and the light was turned on, and as the guy said, the daphnia were glowing and everything was cool...till something happend. one of the kids next to me was being stupid and was balancing on the back legs of his chair, he then lost his balance and while he fell he smacked into me knocking my goggles off and i get the light in full blast, and that was not fun, since i couldint see at all.im sent to the docters and all and being told not to open my eyes for a while after being given this eye medication, and had to wear a cloth around my head to cover my eyes, then on thursday i was told to take off the cloth, my eyes blurred, but cleared up,i could see but there was a problem....everything i saw was black and white,so because of an idiot im colorblind im then told im lucky i didint get brian damage from the light and the cause of me being color blind was something in the inside of my eyes being burned.
that was my worst monday ill ever have, what a thing to happen right near christmas eh? _________________ Im the sword swingin fox protecter,

Well isn't that a nice Christmas present, huh?
well, I guess, you can consider yourself lucky you can still see anything, right?
I looked up this 'Daphnia' you were talking about, seems it is a certain interesting variety of plankton, but so far I've read nothing of the dangerous waves that you mentioned...Now I HAVE seen this phenomenon before; you wouldnt believe what a cool experience it is to look over the side of a boat sailing on the ocean at night and watch the water literally sparkle with light at every wave, and everywhere a paddle splashes into the water it's like fireworks. It is an amazing sight...but not dangerous to look at..
....however, I've never heard of such BioLuminecence (that's the scientific term for light emited by living organisms) being in the part of the spectrum which would pose such a threat to human eyes...the light would have to be in the ultraviolet end of the the EM wave spectrum, and I'm guessing it takes a good amount of energy to generate such rays artificially...Interesting...
At any rate, I wish you a Merry Christmas, and make the best out of your new black and white vision.....with any significant luck, who knows? mabye you'll develop X-Ray vision or laser-eyes or something? _________________ Well the sun will rise in the east

heh,x ray vision...to tell the truth i think id get bored of that really quick, and i may not have explained well, the guy used a light to make the daphnia glow and that light was what burned the inside of my eyes not the daphnia itself, and you just reminded me,the light was ultra violet, kinda forgot the name due to the "excitement",after christmas break, im gonna give the idiot a late christmas preasent, which wont bring joy....a good smack in the head _________________ Im the sword swingin fox protecter,

Sorry I'm late posting this, but wow, I'm sorry to hear that, it sure does suck. Maybe one day if your really lucky you'll be able to see color again, either from eye surgery or somthing. I know the doctor said not, but maybe sometime in the hopefully near future it will be possible.
Has anything happend to the kid who knocked your goggles off? I would think that he should at least have to pay one heck of a big fine. _________________ Minds are like parachutes. They only function when they are open. Sir James Dewar |
