I wrote this a long time ago as a rant and as a way to show off my writing skills, for what little there may be. Names of the characters are completely made up and it is violent and gorey. Enjoy:

******************************************************************
Steadily, the gun was raised and aimed towards the target. Mildred loved hunting and social activities; and having this hunt as a social activity was his favorite thing. Nearly fifty hunters have come on this trip and they wanted to go back home with many prizes.
Mildred concentrated on his target, through the scope of his gun, a large grey wolf. Slowly he breathed, and slowly pulled the trigger. Even if he missed, his friend who’s behind him will take a shot too.
Mildred inhaled slowly and held his breath for a moment, then pulled the trigger. With a loud bang all around them, the wolf went down and Mildred jumped for joy and ran towards his prized kill.

Nearly a kilometer away, hidden well in the bushes watched a young boy through his own scope. He watched the wolf get slaughtered and the two boys running toward the wolf’s body. Jason was barely thirteen and he’s been on his own for five years, and now he’s fighting back after being abandoned by his human parents and chased out by all of humanity because he is what he is, so now he’s fighting back.
Jason watched carefully with the scope of his stolen silenced military sniper rifle, what the other boys did. They tied the wolf’s front paws to a sled and started to drag it back toward the large convention that’s about a day hike away. Mildred and his friend were walking straight toward Jason, though the distance gave Jason time.

Mildred walked gleefully with his kill dragging behind and he chatted with his friend as they walked back to the convention. When they walked about a hundred meters, Mildred suddenly heard his friend scream, he turned quickly to see that his friend’s heart exploded and was pouring out of his chest and spine. His friend collapsed to the ground dead.
“Oh my god,” Mildred screamed. “Don’t shoot! Don’t shoot! We’re hunters! Not animals!”

The first shot was dead on, and now his revenge on the murderer could be done without interruption. Jason set down his sniper and glared at the hunter who was a few hundred meters away. Soon, a white wolf replaced Jason’s spot but the wolf was still glaring at the hunter, and now growling ferociously.
The wolf charged with blinding speed, still growling with anger. The hunter grew closer in the wolf’s sights and Mildred soon realized that he should be worried about his own life right now.
Jason, the wolf, jumped at Mildred’s throat but Mildred was able to shake out of the state of shock, fear and surprise long enough to bring his rifle up in a defensive way, to bar the wolf’s teeth. Jason grabbed onto the gun and bit down, as hard as he would have been biting the hunter’s neck right now. The gun snapped in two, the metal barrel shattered and the gun fell on the ground in pieces.
Jason regained his footing not a moment after the gun found the ground. Mildred was knocked off his feet and landed on his ass merely a foot away from Jason. Mildred screamed and Jason pounced again, but once again Mildred summoned up enough courage to block the attack again, with his arm this time. Jason bit down and crushed the bones easily and Mildred screamed more. Jason enjoyed the taste of the hunter’s blood.
Human again, Jason stood over the bleeding and crying hunter. As if never transformed, Jason still was fully clothed and with all his gear strapped on, along with the sniper rifle
“Stop it,” Mildred cried out confused. “I didn’t do anything.”
“Didn’t do anything,” Jason repeated in a harsh voice. “Come look at what you did.” Jason grabbed Mildred by the collar and forced him onto his feet, even though Mildred was much taller than Jason, Mildred was hunched over holding his pulverized arm.
Jason pushed the hunter onto the sled, right near the dead wolf. “You’ve killed one of my kind and for that, you don’t deserve to live.”
Mildred continued to cry but he was able to look at the wolf that he shot earlier. “If I would have known---” Mildred tried to explain.
“You wouldn’t have shot the wolf,” Jason angrily questioned. “Maybe this time, but what about next time?”
“Please,” Mildred begged. “I won’t ever hunt again. Spare my life.”
“Bull sh*t,” Jason replied. “I know your kind, if I let you live, you’ll want to seek vengeance on me for breaking your arm and you’ll do it any way you can, either coming after me, or shooting more wolves.”
“No,” Mildred cried. “I won’t.”
“That’s your come-back,” Jason asked sarcastically. “See you in hell.”
“Noo---” Mildred screamed. Before his last word was finished, Jason took out a sword that he wore on his belt and with the fingerprinting that he left on it; it automatically activated in an instant and made the blade glow a light blue. Jason brought the weapon back and swung it at Mildred’s throat.
The throat was slit and Mildred breath fell short, blood spilled out and Mildred went limp on the sled. Blood soaked into the sled’s wood and dripped onto the ground through the cracks.
“I wasn’t able to save you,” Jason said to the wolf’s body. “But you have been avenged. The entire convention will fall, and they will never reach their home again.”
Jason cut the wolf’s bonds and carried it away; he then buried it and let its soul go be at peace. Jason grabbed his sniper rifle that was strapped around his shoulder and held it in his hands, walking toward the convention.

That was a great story, ThewhiteFox, very well written. I'd tell you to go easy on the humans a little, but Then again, if I were Jason, I'd feel those flames of rage too..

I can also see your using the Wolf's Rain concept of wolves disguising themselves as humans, not to mention the bloody, gorey style I remember so well from WR. that anime had more blood tan I've ever seen in a TV show before...

Two thumbs up, TWF!

Thanks.
And this story was basically a rant toward the group of people that hunt for sport. And I did have the main character "Wolf's Rain" like, though I don't think that was intentional. lol.
I do write a lot of stories, James. I have about another two on this forum and I have a couple dozen that I started and never finished.

I don't believe I've seen this before. Nice story. A little harsh but still very-well written.
