a furry is...hmm drat i had it now i cant seem to put it into words...TWF could you explain?

well i was given a site to explain that but i dont remenber what it is...
basicly it is a person that dresses up like an animal...sometimes frome a game or a book or something.i think that should help

A "furry" is a term that a community of people, from around the world, have given themselves. They commonly share the same interest in animals, video games, anime, and other sorts. Most furries base their "fursona," a made-up character made to resemble themselves, off their favorite animal in which the fursona features is an anthropomorphic animal (i.e. Fox McCloud). This community of people mostly interact between eachother through internet (i.e. Myspace, Instand Messaging), and conventions, like anime conventnions, are held around the country where events such as fur suit entertainment, comics, drawings and other things take place. "Fursuit" is the term given to those furries who own a maskot-like suit, but they're customized and made for that person only, which is usually their fursona.

Now "furries" are highly stereotyped to be sex crazed people, which in my obversaitions, this stereotype proves true. They're also blamed to be zoophilia's, which a few people I've talked to told me that they are but that's not something I was real thrilled to study.
In my obversations, I've also determined that most furries get in constant relationships with people that they've never met, but know eachother from a furry community webpage; which I conclude that few of them know what the term "love" means.

Furries are in every state of the United States, and there are many across Europe, and some in the easteren part of Asia. As for other parts of the world, I don't know if there are some or not.

Dont worry about it too much, ok hellspawneth? Personally, I dont quite understand the idea myself. there was a time that I wished I could be an animal, though now I am happy just being a human. I can always be an animal in my dreams, of course.

To clarify about your drawing, the technical name for it is an Anthropomorhic animal, which literally means, human-shaped animal, because it stands on two legs like a human. From what I understand, 'furries' do often take that form.

Now, TheWhiteFox, I want to note a little something here. That sex-crazed stereotype that you described, it sounds pretty bang-on for someone trying to be like an animal. I think it relatively accurately mirrors what intimacy in the wild is like compared to love, human-style.

In the wild, you just dont have time to date for so long, then get engaged, then get married, THEN have children ad all that. Courtship in the wild definitly happens, but it lasts a very short time, mabye a day at the most depending on species (correct me if I'm wrong here), and then it's time to get right into it, so to speak. It isn't crazy for animals to go that fast, it's normal. As for the humans who would try and do intimacy that fast, well...those people probably are crazy for real. (but no offence to anyone like that who happens to be reading this)

I hope I managed to keep that ok, I realise this is probably an 'E for Everyone forums, and we might happen to have some younger kids on hre sometime. I tryied really hard to keep it that way, honest.

By all means, if they really want to be an animal, then sure they can go with that lifestyle. But they are human and as you said, it is a little "crazy," and I just like to call it "creepy."

i think its more of a feeling and a part of who you are that makes you a furry,dunno if im right but i might be close

all i meant is if you need anything but i feel the way you described

im pretty sure you dont need anything to be a furry,dont think being a furry ment that you love this one animal and had pictures or whatever and a million figures or something,its more of a personality thing i think
