Well, I don't exactly remember whenever I did first get my interest in wolves, but all I do remember is that I watched a movie called, "Princess Mononoke", which had wolves and stuff in it.
It sparked my interest about wolves. I remember watching it, and while I was watching I'd always have my eyes glued onto the wolves... they were just so beautiful and I wanted to learn about them more. Then after learning about them for a few months, I decided that I wanted to go to a Wolf Camp in Minnesota back in the Summer of '06. Just to see if I could learn a little more about them.
After going there, and coming back, I just wanted to work with wolves. By then I had gained a burning passion for them. I wanted to do anything to help them not become extinct. And that's how I became interested in wolves. In a nutshell, haha xD
Sorry for the long reply ^^;; _________________ "Sometimes I just want to get away from it all; and go run with the wolves, howl with the wolves."

Shoji, dont worry about your long reply, 'cause mine will surely be longer..
This is a good question, one I dont really know the answer to myself....as far back as I can remember, I've always wanted to learn things...I red all the science books my parents gave me, and asked for more...I dont remember all that I read back then, but I know I read a lot, and learned a lot...but I think I grew bored of physics and such because eventually, there was nothing left to learn that I could understand...I think today, this is still the thing that attracts me to animals...you can always learn something new from them (or about them)...
dont get me wrong, I learned to fear canines sometimes, too...i'm still at a loss of why I'm not afraid of them...as a kid, I was bitten several times by large dogs (none of which I can remember very well, asid from the fact that it did happen), and one of my scariest memories is still running down a path at a campground, being chased by what most likely was a big German Sheperd dog (I dont remember exactly what breed it was), screaming my head off...so I should really be afraid of dogs...
..now, I think I got interested in wolves as a result of english class at school...one of our reading assignments was "Never Cry Wolf", written by Farley Mowat. i think from the time I read that book, I've been increasingly interested in wolves..and the rest is history, I guess...
For the record, I do not, and will never, claim to know a lot about wolves...there are many things I know about them, but not really alot...I've never even seen a wolf in real life, only in photos and video clips...what I do know about them, I've learned from reading a lot, and asking questions about them on the web... _________________ Well the sun will rise in the east

Okay, now to answer my own question, I'll have to summon up some old memories..
First, I always had that basic interest in animals as most of us to which allowed us to continue to take an interest in animals.
Ever since I could remember, I had golden retrievers, except when my parents got divorced and quite havent' had a dog yet. And my family relationships weren't so great so it' was nice to have the dogs there. And the puppies that we got every year or so, were just so adorable.
And just a few years ago, is when I really got interested in canids. I remeber watching my brother play this really, really old game that we haven't beaten yet and he was about to win. It was an asian game, I forgot the name but one of the last bosses was like this asian dog statue looking thing with a rider on the back. After my brother beat it, it turned into a fox and the rider shrunk to a smaller, weaker guy. The cutscene was with the tyrant still trying to win and the fox said that what he was doing is wrong and wanted no part of it so he disappeared *poof* I just thought that was really cool.
Then a few months later, Narnia came out in theaters and I went to see that with my 3 older sibilings. The fox in that movie was just such a noble creature, like the fox in the old game. And those two events is the main thing that got me soo interested in foxes, and wolves, and dogs. _________________

Ahh yes, the Narnia movie.. I did like it, but I was sort of annoyed at the fact that they pretty much used the wolf as a bad guy.. but whatever, no use getting all mad about it now, haha xD _________________ "Sometimes I just want to get away from it all; and go run with the wolves, howl with the wolves."

I really can't remember how I got into loving them, I just always have. I collect stuffed/glass dogs and I've always loved wolves as well. My fascianation has always grown every year with them. I have three wolf stuffed animals, but the two are my favorites. They're names are Snowy and Cheyenne. _________________ To protect the wildlife, we must do all we can to save them before they join the extinct list.
Gotta love the canidae family!!! :^) |

Well, I've had wild foxes around me for as long as I can remember...
When I was about twelve, I started recording all nocturnal wildlife on a nightly basis and grew very interested in the foxes I saw. But I have just always had a huge interest in wildlife. As a young child I'd spend hours staring at library books, fascinated by all the thousands of wonderful animals that never get a mention on the news! One of those which caught my eye was the red wolf, a fact which has altered my life in all kinds of ways... _________________ Visit my
