Well, it's official. Start playing the Imperial March from star-wars or some other suitable mood music on your compy, Dusk is back, and ready or not, here she comes!
After cheering (not for Dusk, of course, but for the fact she's returned) I don't know whether to laugh or to groan, so I did both. On one hand, she's really the last character we need to complicate thngs more that they are (hence the groan). On the other, just as I predicted when Ricky left in search of the fox's vixen, he's brought back Randy's vixen, yet not -the- vixen we were hoping for (the hilarious part). I totally saw this coming!
I cant believe I'm saying this, but yay for Dusk being back. She makes things a lot more interesting, and i have to say, I actually missed her a bit. I cant wait to see what she does next. (actually, how much damage could Dusk possibly do while Randy is asleep?)
So it's sort of a good news-bad news situation here:
The bad news: Dusk is back, and already making things interesting.
The good news: Things couldnt possibly get any worse! ......could they? _________________ Well the sun will rise in the east

"Darn"? Dusk is, quite simply, the cherry on top of this delicious plot. She completes the whole thing. I knew that sooner or later she'd get involved, and here she is now, at just the perfect time. Granted she's a big pain in he rear most of the time, she really keeps you on your feet, I like that about her.
I wager that when everything is over and Randy is safe in the barn with Cindy and the others, THEN he'll wake up and have no clue what all the crazy things have been going on surrounding him and his disapearance, he'll probably think he got home without a problem. THAT little touch of irony would top things off just perfectly.
Either that or perhaps it will come down to a sleeping-beauty syle kiss, only it's the prince who needs to wake up this time .
What about you guys? When do you think Randy will wake up? _________________ Well the sun will rise in the east

Well, it seems the Carspeckens computer is down for the count, so everything is on hold while that gets fixed.
As for the latest strip, it appears Dusk has begun the "oh golly, Randy, my poor fox..." act; I think she began the acting a little too late. Although she picked up quickly on the fact that the raccoon was expecting something a little different from Randy's vixen, she still left a bad first impression, and that may be the deciding point here. Alphonse, the older of the raccoon half brothers, and the one who stayed behind while Ricky went out searching (and subsequently brought back Dusk), is easily the more sensible of the raccoons, and perhaps one of the most level-headed characters in the strip. Surely he will catch on to Dusk's tricks sooner or later, wont he?
On another note, although I'd usually never stoop as low as to cheer for the bad-guy, I have to commend Dusk's acting job here; This is the first bit of caring attitude I've ever seen from Dusk, even if she is only acting, and she makes it sound half decent, considering that sounding sincere in a scenario like this is by no means easy.
Something I'd like to note, is Dusk's use of the word, 'Golly'. Who ever uses that word anymore? The only other time I've seen that word used in Faux Pas was by Cindy when she was pretending Randy was her hero for saving her from Dusk, and Cindy was only acting that time, too.
...I honestly would have actually been fooled by Dusk's act myself, but throwing the word golly in there made it sound stupid and less sincere. I'll be interested to read Cindy's first words when she finds Randy

Really? I cant quite see the connection there, Cloud; would anyone care to explain?
Bluewolf, glad to see your into it too. I also cant wait to see how things turn out. If it took you only six hours to read every strip in the archives, you kight want to go back and read them all again. reading at that speed, your bound to mis something; I know because I took just as much time to read the entire archives, and I found a lot of stuff I missed, or skipped over the first time, when I went through a second and third time. Yes, I read through at least 3 times . _________________ Well the sun will rise in the east

It looks like Dusk finnally hit a roadblock in her little acting job. (funny they should ask if she's an actor, she's not half bad herself)
Oh, hurry up, Cindy, where are you?
I cant wait to see what Cindy wil say when she finds this wild scene with Randy, Dusk, and the raccoons; I think It will probably go something like this:
Faux Pas #510 (Week 85, Strip 6)
Yep, that's what she'll say. _________________ Well the sun will rise in the east

Not exactly what you'd normally expect from a gal like Dusk, huh?
for the record, I think that "Golly, gee" thing was a -bit- overboard, too... _________________ Well the sun will rise in the east
