Yes, and unfortunately, it looks as if Dusk would win the popularity vote. Myrtle is obviously won over, Stu is missing, and seems to be trying to make friends with Dusk, and Arthur seems none too happy about being stuck in the rain looking for Stu while said rabbit was safe indoors almost the whole time. The way he acts you'd think it was Cindy's fault he was out there. Confused

Yeah, I'm rooting for poor Cindy on this matter. Remember back in the forest when she visited Dusk's den to rescue Randy? Dusk said, and I quote: "Never hurt family, mom said. Nothing good can come of it, mom said..." Whatever happened to that!?

I guess They're having some issues with thier scanner.

BTW, I love the artwork on this fill-in strip. Poor Cindy, out in the rain. She should come inside or she might catch a cold again.

Okay, ouch! Arthur does NOT seem like a happy camper, and I think Dusk just effectively ruined all chance of him believing Cindy's apology, anytime soon. Someone should tell those two about how Cindy and Toast fell into the well. Arthur and Brisbane aren't the only animals who got soaked today.

And what of Randy? He hasn't really been all that present since he awoke. Will Dusk be able to work her magic on the most crucial member of this dispute?

Up to this point, I've been of the impression that Randy was the Lady's primary target, and that messing with Cindy was just a bonus.

I believe now it's the other way around. The handsome, kind-hearted male involved is no doubt the most important thing in Cindy's world right now, and stealing him would be a severe blow to the poor lass. The fact that Dusk gets a potential mate out of it if she succeeds is merely a bonus prize.

My reasoning? if Dusk was primarily after Randy's affection, she would be with him right now working her feminine charms. Isntead, the lady is working her way around the farm, weaseling her way into the animals' good books, while making Cindy look bad in the proccess.

Basically, yes, that is what she is trying to do. Dusk apparently delights in torturing and stealing from Cindy "Why, because I can, dear.." (I recently heard the exact same line on TV, and immediatly thought, hmm, now where have I heard this before?). Dusk will try and steal everything the poor vixen holds dear. Her home, her friends, her mate, everying. This is obviously far from the first time this has happened. It's a source of amusement for Dusk, not to mention the nice prizes she gets to keep.

Already you can see how Cindy is being drastically affected by this. Now where is Randy; she could really use a shoulder to lean on right now, someone to remind her she isn't alone.

Luckily for her, this kind of story always has a happy end to it. It's destiny, you know?

I can see the cats are voting for who they support, Cindy ("Mary Ann") or Dusk ("Ginger"). Dusk seems to have the majority vote here, but I know a couple arguments in Cindy's favor. I don't think that cats have thought this through yet, but I think they should.

First off, Cindy wouldn't lay a claw on the cats, at least not unless she had a good reason to be mad at them, and Cindy seems pretty patient where the cats are concerned. Dusk on the other paw, has indicated that she might eat a cat or two, and there's nothing saying she won't. And Dusk knows she could get away with it if she wanted. She's sneaky enough to be able to kill a cat in secret without anyone noticing, and there's enough cats around, that if one or two went missing, who would notice? The cats woiuld be safer with Cindy.

And second, Dusk might have promised the cats free play of Randy, but will that actually happen? Think about it - Randy really likes Cindy, and probably wouldn't hang around Dusk if given the choice. Suppose Dusk were to win, and Cindy was forced to leave. Randy would find himself tormented by the cats again, and he'd have to deal with Dusk in the meantime. That would only be more motivation to get out of the barn and go look for Cindy, if he hadn't gone out to look for her in the first place. And that would leave the cats and Dusk back at the barn, which of course raises the safety issue back in my first point.

Taking the above two points into consideration, does Dusk's offer still seem like a smart idea?

Oh great, Randy is drugged once again, leaving Cindy pretty much on her own against Dusk. Randy would have been the right animal to go to for help, as he would certainly stick by her to the very end. Now he is out of it until the pain pills wear off, and poor Cindy is about ready to panic...

Interesting. I would have thought Cindy was too zonked at the time to remember just what happened with the cough medicine. She certainly didn't bear any grudge against Myrtle for very nearly killing her.

Oh well. With Randy loopy on the pain meds, Dusk will have a tougher time doing anything with him.

Hee hee, look at Dusk's expression in the last frame. Totally priceless! Laughing

"Would you like fries with that?" Very Happy

So Stu is giving Dusk the chance to prove she can be trusted....I like Stu, and he is absolutely right on this one. But even though Dusk claimed to be turning over a new leaf, most of her actions (from the reader perspective), seem to indicate to the contrary. But things can change, who knows what will happen.

On what Fluffy said, "I don't care if you "prove" yourself to anyone or not ...you are who you are, Good, bad, in between." I'm not sure I understand what he means by this. Confused Dusk could eat Fluffy right now if she wanted, and he doesn't care if she's evil or not?

Uh Oh, Dusk, mabye you should take your own advice, "Don't ask the question if your not going to like the answer."

But Dusk doesn't look like she is about to be blown off by a puny rabbit. 10 brownie points says Dusk is going to wind up learning the hard way why Fluffy is NOT to be messed with.

One way or another, though, I doubt her ego will come out of this intact. Cool Heh heh heh...

What's the matter, Dusk? Can't take what you're dishing out? Cool
