Ha ha! The cat is out out of the bag - literally! Now he'd better get out of the food dish before Dusk gets the wrong idea... _________________ Well the sun will rise in the east

Sound advice if I ever heard any, McCloud. Of course how are you going to know you wo't like the answer if you don't ask the question and get the answer.
Dusk is a truly awesome character. The guys think she's hot, the gals think she's evil, and I don't know about you but I'm not entirely sure what to think. Actually, I think she's pretty hot too, for a vixen. And it's not like she's done anything wrong as of yet, (she's been amazingly well behaved, actually) but we all know she's planning something against Cindy. No one else I know can cause such trouble without even being awake.
I don't know what she's planning to do, but...I can say with certainty that she does have a sort of weakness. A fatal flaw, if you will. And mark my words, it will be her ultimate undoing.
On another note, Fluffy is definitly right about not bugging his mom. I don't know what in the world she is up to right now, but Eddie has been known to have a mean temper at the best of times. Hell hath no fury like the wrath of an Evil Bunny Lady scorned.
But where the heck did Stu vanish to all of a sudden? I thought he was sticking with Dusk? So many things going on, no wonder Randy thought he was still dreaming. I'd ask how things could possibly get worse, but there are enough things to deal with as is! _________________ Well the sun will rise in the east

Yeah, It's an awesome strip. I enjoy reading them myself time and again. The story is excellent, and the art is amazing. The early weeks particularly are classic. the whole "under the rock, deep in the mud" thing? totally hillarious. Brisbane's first appearance. "Oh, in that case I'll be really quiet." And Randy's first noticeable 'innocent' moment. "The baby bunnies kidnapped Cindy?!"
The chicken is Myrtle DeHen, famous author wanna-be and bird-brain numero uno around this barn. But don't overjudge her - she only thinks she is important. It's probably the fact that she's the only animal of this crew who can write human, so she has to fill out the order forms for food and supplies. Without that, everyone starves. But she's pretty much useless in every other way, more of an annoyance than anything else.
And if you didn't remember that....I guess I don't blame you. She's been holed up in her room watching TV for the last 24 hours or so. Didn't even notice that practically the entire barn went out to rescue Randy. _________________ Well the sun will rise in the east

Tell me about it. They really do make a cute couple.
He is a raised-by-humans animal actor who knows nothing about being a real fox, and she is a pretty born-in-the-wild vixen who was no doubt raised to be scared of humans. She is a natural born hunter; he would probably faint at the sight of blood. I guess opposites really do attract.
I can't help but wonder, though, what thier children would be like. I mean, which way of life would they end up learning from thier parents? Natural predator, like mom, or domesticated actor, like dad? Or mabye a little of both. Sure would be an odd family. _________________ Well the sun will rise in the east

Speaking of interesting, I'm begining to sense something more to Dusk's story. Ever get the feeling she's more than a simple forest fox?
First off, way back when she first appeared, she knew the kissing thing, which is human by nature. I simply assumed she had been spying on Cindy when she was taught that move.
And now, she's talking about Television with Myrtle, and get this: she actually knows what she's talking about! Since when does a wild fox know anything about human TV programming? Hmm... _________________ Well the sun will rise in the east

Mmm, that thought did cross my mind. It still seems awfully fishy. There's the possibility that a hidden cat is giving Dusk cues, but...it seems unlikely.
BTW, Only registered users can see links on this forum! Register or Login on forum! | - Saw it once when I was younger. It was a really cool show. The 'KIT' Dusk referred to is actually spelled KITT, Knight Industries Two Thousand. It was a sweet high tech car with an Artificial Intelligence. Yeah, a talking car. KITT was the partner of the series' hero, Michal Knight.
I'm still leaning towards the simple explanaton. I think Dusk has spent more time with humans than she is letting on. _________________ Well the sun will rise in the east

Oh, that sneaky, sneaky vixen!
She even had me fooled. I had actually guessed beforehand that the cats were indeed hideing out and telling her what to say, but because Dusk is so mysterious, I went ahead and second-guessed myself. I should have realized that no wild-born and raised fox would ever willingly spend enough time among humans to become that familliar with human TV programming; Dusk, mysterious as she may be, is no exception to that rule.
There would have to be a very good reason for any wild animal to even think about going near a human building such as the barn. In this case that very good reason is Randy, who seems to be quite a hit with the ladies, whether he likes it or not!
At any rate, Dusk's plan seems to be working. Myrtle and Cindy already have friction between them over the whole TV thing, so all Dusk has a reletively reliable ally; I say relatively because Myrtle obviously isn't the sharpest tool in the shed. Nevertheless, DeHen has been known to go to extreme lengths to get her way in the past (remember the stereo speaker and bucket-of-water pranks?), so this has the potential to turn a bit nasty should things escalate. _________________ Well the sun will rise in the east
