Hahaha, Krysys, that is one of the stranger bits of news I've heard, alright!

I did some reasearch, and this is what I came up with:

I saw this one and said "What the Heck?!?" this is something ya dont see everyday:

I wonder just what the coyote was thinking, walking right into a fast food restauraunt, thats full of people, and kickin back in a cooler as if no-one was around....it's all very bizzare...you'd think it would have at least been a little nervous with all the people around, wouldn't it?

Anyhow, the coyote was captured, and will be realeased into the wild, a happy ending, I guess, but the question still remains in my mind: "What the heck was the coyote thinking?"

desparate for what? an ice pack? It just walked in, and lay down inside the drink cooler, practicly oblivious to everyone inside the restaurant...

Not sure what the coyote might have been thinking. It could have been desperate for something to drink.

*However, I will be moving this topic to 'Wild Dogs' soon, and will be renaming the topic to a more proper title.*

Maybe, but the coyote is thought to have been staying in the cooler because of the injury on it's leg. And it could have attempted to leave or something but couldn't when it failed to jump over the counter. It could have been even following someone that it might have had some sort of relation with. Who knows?

Simply by watching the video, it is clear that it is not rabid. Rabies cause an animal, or whatever its host is, to be extremely aggressive and pratically restless. The coyote would be showing its teeth and growling a lot more, and it'd also go up to people to attack them. So it's clear that it was not rabid.

actualy the parasite that causes rabies alters the mind of its host causing it to want to bite anything that moves (i know quite a bit on this kind of stuff so....)

Interesting how the wolf got all the way downtown Chicago without anyone realizing it. Odd behavior of the coyote.
